baseballfans
Ernie Banks 500 HR club but no World Series title. Long live the curse of billy goat. Red Sox fans can't say they suffer more than the Cubs anymore. :wall:

Jim825
Depending on rather or not TC4 will be make or not? Stan the man and Ernie Banks will have to wait to be release. There WILL be a TC4. We'll mainly be fixing errors that are found in TC3, making roster tweaks, pulling in some more portraits and audios (if possible) and any new classic faces that are released. If you release new faces, we'll include them. I'm not promising anything here, but I would expect TC4 to be released sometime in mid to late October. Padres67
'71 and '79 Pirates need to be tweaked-all of the batting averages are too high after simming a couple of seasons
capa
'71 and '79 Pirates need to be tweaked-all of the batting averages are too high after simming a couple of seasons This is where it gets tricky. The teams are created through an import mechanism from the Lahman Baseball db. There are formulas that a few people here created and tweaked to try to reflect the actual ability of the player after the data has been imported. For the most part, it works like a charm. However, one thing to keep in mind...the teams included in the TC package have never played each other, obviously. How can we know if Ron Swoboda on the 69 Mets would have hit close to his average for that year when simming, or if he would have raised it due to playing against some oldtime teams from the turn of the century? Would Maris hit 61 if he played against specialist pitchers of the 80's and 90's? A bad example, perhaps, but I hope you know what I mean. Also, it may have more to do with the effectiveness of the pitcher's ratings than too strong batting ratings. Very hard to tell and why it takes thousands of hours to test and tweak. How off were the averages for those 2 teams? And were they for specific players or for each player on the team? I love this kind of stuff and appreciate your help in tweaking it to perfection... Padres67
I understand the difficulty of setting up stats that are similar to what they would really do-the '71 and '79 Pirates were good teams-but when all 9 players on the '71 Pirates is over .300-some tweaks are needed. For instance Bob Robertson hit .350, Dave Cash hit almost .400-just a couple of examples.
