KMet
Royals Win Big in Detriot The Royals started their season on a high note after a big win in Detriot. The Tigers, unable to stop the Royals bats, fell 11-4. Jose Lima gavce a strong start givinging up 4 runs (3 earned) on eight hits. Sweeney and Dejesus lead the Royals offense combining for seven RBI's. Manager Buddy Bell was pleased with the opening day performance, remarking " We had it going for us. We were on. It is a good start, now we need to continue this throughout the season." The Royals bats produced 18 hits and two of those for extra bases. Player Remarks Mike Sweeney: "It was a great team effort. It feels good to get the season off to a start like this. Hopefully this will remain throughout the season. This was a team win." Jose Lima: "I'm glad to get my first win under my belt. It is so much easier starting out with a win than it is a loss. To be ahead is always great. I'm so lucky to have such a good defense behind me. I let a few pitches go and thankfully the guys were able to back me up." KMet
Royals Win Second Against Tigers The Royals win again in Detriot. Kansas City produced 6 runs on 15 hits, while Runelvys Hernandez held the Tigers to four hits and two runs. Sweeney once again went the distance and hit a solo homerun his second of the season. DeJesus added to his RBI total with two RBI's, his total is now 6 in two games. A fan who made the trip up after yesterday's performance was quoted, " I never thought we'd start out the season with two wins. I watched the game last night expecting another miserable show and it was amazing. I'm pumped!" The Kansas City clubhouse has a positive air to it, something that hasn't been around in awhile. Angel Berroa, who stole two bases this afternoon, was seen clowning around with teamates as they celebrated the good opening to the season. Player Quotes Emil Brown: " It was another great game. I knew wee had this in us. We have confidence that we normally don't have. With the excellent spring training and now this, the season may turn out for the good." Hernandez threw a great game.(right) Sweeney stretches for the out at first.(center) The Royals celebgrate their second straight win.(left) Box Score 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E KC 0 1 0 0 0 2 0 3 0 6 15 0 DET 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 5 2 Noteable Stats 2B: A. KMet
Tigers Slip One by the Royals The Tigers only were able to get two runs by Royals pitcher Greinke, but it was enough to take the win. Even though it was a loss, the Royals played a good game. Kansas City's bats never came alive today, only producing two hits and no runs. Detriot's Johnson pitched 8 and 2/3 innings striking out 4 batters. Grienke fanned 8 in 8 innings. Detriot's Dimitri Young produced a two run homerun in the 2nd inning. The only show of offense by the Royals, was a double in the third inning by David DeJesus. The Royals next game is against the Angels at Anahiem. Player Remarks: Zack Greinke: "I think I pitched my best. I just needed one pitch back and we'd still be playing right now. I hung the curve and I knew it when it left my hand. Oh well so goes the game." David DeJesus: "We played well, they just played better. Yeah, it was a little set back, but we have proven we can win, we'll see what happens against the Angels." I. Rodriguez watches the third strike go by. The Tigers Clubhouse shows their frustration. Stairs strikes out swinging. New member here...don't actually have MVP yet, obviously I am getting it late for PC, after playing it a long time at my friends' houses on PS2 and Xbox. I look forward to posting here what happens with my dynasty...help me out with any modding that I should do... Oh, and for the screenshots (on my screen anyway) where it says left center and right, the one that should be on the right is below the others...is that a problem with my screen or not. Thanks...
