roster19
I've tried arguing a couple times both random and a few times when the commentator said the call was wrong, but my manager gets booted everytime no matter what intensity I put it. I've seen the CPU manager argue in a calm manner, but my manager tries to do a Lou impression everytime. Anyone know what arguing useful for? Friedman
Absolutely nothing at all. You can argue a 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times and a call will never ever, ever, ever, ever (you get the point) be reversed. :wall:

raindelay7
remember that arguing balls and strikes is an automatic ejection under mlb rules. I think in MVP there might be a small boost in team moral if you argue a close call on a tag or force out and you do NOT get ejected, but maybe that is just wishful thinking...my fear is they never got around to really finishing this feature but decided to just throw what they had in anyway. Don
I do it because its entertaining and it could boost the team up.
UncleMo
For you nothing, for me, to amuse myself. And if you continue to do it you won't ALWAYS get booted.
cybernetic
it depends what you argue and how much intensity you do.. balls/strikes always get tossed but other things depending on what it is and how much intensity can fire up the team.. the only things I really want to argue are stupid bugs like hits+error called just an error or a home run called an error
Tidalwav90
Arguing a call at the right time and right intensity without getting thrown out will boost your team's stats but being thrown out and certain times will reduce them.
GoldGlove
So why is there a "Blown Calls" option?

Emil
It could fire up your team. If you don't want to get thrown out, just tap the button a little, NOT NOTHING, press so you fill 10% of the bar.
cybernetic
yeah but if it's argue a ball/strike it's an automatic ejection
AstroEric
Don't argue fair / foul either, as I learned last night. --Eric
Grub
How -do I- argue a call on the PC version? I can't figure that out. I also can't figure out how to pick people off.
Don
press argue call. Then, to increase the intensity keep tapping the space bar.

xiberger
I don't know what button to hit, though. For me it's the button for second base. Hit it during a replay to argue the call.
ixcuincle
for me it's numpad plus. I have a laptop so I have to turn on function and f10/f11 for number pad and then press the "+" key , scroll to the right to my manager and press argue call. Arguing calls is useless. I rarely do it and it can't be done for inning ending plays like a close call at home or a strikeout to end the inning. I've tried arguing a home run ball that deflected off the foul poul , and that was the only time I've argued a call (I got ejected). Nevertheless , as someone posted earlier it was a good laugh. I wonder what happens if I argue a call and press intensify argument ;)
Grub
ok, that's to argue.. for picking people off, I can't quite figure it out. I also, for some reason, can't hit batters or throw pitchouts. Does defense have to be set at manual?
ixcuincle
To hit batters I press period or 0 , I can't remember which (since I haven't deliberately hit a batter in a while) and press pagedown. I don't know what a pitchout is.
Guest JWClubbie
I was recently playing a Minor League Game, Visalia at home against Lake Eilsnore, got to the 14th inning, umpire made a BS call at one of the bases, I mean really blew it. I got the meter to red and the umpire just stood their, let me say my piece, and did'nt toss me???
Don
that happens to me sometimes. It all depends.
cybernetic
it's because it was a blown call but like in real life the umpire would just argue with you back and not admit he was wrong
rynox
How -do I- argue a call on the PC version? I can't figure that out. I also can't figure out how to pick people off. Press F5, gives you the manager menu. You can pick Argue Call then. If you're not using the F1-F9 menus, you ought to check them out, they're way helpful. At one point I argued so much that the announcer goes, "no suprise to see the skipper coming out to argue the call" lol
