rows24
Is there any way after a pitch instead of having the pitcher just go back to the mound a pitch again after the catcher catches the ball have him throw it back to the pitcher, it would be more realistic. carter
So would having the pitcher and catcher come to play in my living room, but I don't think that's possible either.
Emil
The cather doesn't throw the ball back, because it slows the game down
JP_Frost
I'd love to have the ability to let the catcher make a mound visit instead of the skipper ( pitching coach would've been nice as well )

boricuapapi1885
actually it is possible i remember last yr it was in the datafile. I was in contact with a camera modder and he was doing a cather animation to throw the ball back to eith er the picther or 3rd base after the strike out but it kept freezin as i was testing. But it can be done

Chewy
To add my two cents, I think it would add to the realism of the game if the catchers tossed their masks when fielding a pop up. carter Posted: So would having the pitcher and catcher come to play in my living room, but I don't think that's possible either. :lmao:
Ghostrider
All of those little things that would make the game ultimately realistic more than likely go into the category of "nice, but unnecessary." Coders, testers, and whoever else has a say about what the final product of the game is probably have to cut out some of the "extras" in order to speed up gameplay and decrease lag. Imagine if EVERYTHING that was supposed to go on on the playing field actually did. The game would be so slow and virtually unplayable. Technically the catcher should toss his mask when blocking balls or fielding, the catcher should throw the ball back to the pitcher, the ball should go "around the horn" after an out or strike out with no men on base, the outfielders should be backing up plays at the corner bases, the catcher should be huffing it down the first base line to back up a fielding play. All of those little nuances of the game are extremely important in real life...but you can easily see why EA has left these aspects out. As the saying goes..."too much of a good thing". TBJays
They could add something like base coaches and that wouldnt take anything to do and it surely wouldnt lag the game that much. There comes a time in beta testing a game where the testers just have to say enough is enough. It would add to the game but really, what effect would it have other then aesthetic reasons? That is what they ask themselves but that is why we have forums right???
Sac51
The Angels lost one game this season, cause K-Rod has dropped a throw from the catcher after a pitch... My opinion about the thread as it said before "Nice, but not necessary"!
rows24
all the jokes are cool but it is more realistic. Its like the pitcher has 1000 baseballs behind him he justs keeps using. It looks stupid as far as slowing the game down, I dont think so it adds more realism. I played major league baseball 2k5 for the xbox and the animations in this game has MVP beat all day long hands down. If someone could come up with the animation I would appreciate it much. The gameplay in MVP is to fast anyway I can play a game 10 times quicker in mvp than i can in 2k5. A datafile would be nice thanks.
cb
The animations in MLB 2K5 being better? Since when does a Second baseman on MVp catch a ground ball with his shoe?
Ghostrider
Agree with TexasHound on this one. The only advantage 2K5 has over MVP, in my humble opinion, is the ESPN-style presentation. MVP cleans house in every other category...sound, graphics, on and on.
rows24
Yeah espn has got it all day long. Espn makes the game. The commentary is like you watching sunday night baseball. Thats awesome. Anyway if someone could figure out how to do the catcher throw back animation send me a message.
