Bye I am going to write this post in spanish: Hola a todos, soy de Venezuela, y quiero hacerles 3 breves preguntas para ver si me pueden ayudar a jugar mejor MVP BASEBALL 2005. Bye
big shmooz
Well... it all depends on your controller configuration. I have a Saitek p2500 (I also adjusted the configuration file located in the mvp folder in my documents to make it do this properly. At the end of this post I will show you my configuration) 1) I hold the right button downward to slide normally into the base. I hold it up to dive headfirst & to the right & up to dive to the outside of the bag & left up to the inside of the bag. & right down to slide to the outside & left down to slide to the inside of the bag. 2) I hold down the left shoulder button & whilst still holding it down, I press the button that corresponds with the base I want the pitcher to throw over to. 3) I press the 2 button (the one that corresponds to second base normally) immediately after the play ends & the manager comes out & argues. The more you press it the more intense the argument. Alternatively, you can press button 6 in the game which brings up the menus that lets you adjust your field, pinch hit, warm up pitchers etc... & one of the options at one of the screens says something like "argue call" You highlight that choice by moving your gamepad control over it & then let go. The manager will then come out & argue. Hope this helps. profile= Saitek_Cyborg_Force_Rumble_Pad device= Saitek_Cyborg_Force_Rumble_Pad player= 0 number_of_buttons= 12 number_of_povs= 1 number_of_axis= 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= button 11 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= not_assigned -1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= button 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CIRCLE= button 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= button 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= button 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= button 7 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= button 8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= button 5 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= button 6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= button 9 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= button 10 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= pov0 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= pov180 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= pov270 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= pov90 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= axis+ 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= axis- 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3 VPAD_PITCH_1= button 3 VPAD_PITCH_2= button 4 VPAD_PITCH_3= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_4= button 2 VPAD_PITCH_5= button 8 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_OUT= button 3 VPAD_THROW_BALL= button 7 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= not_assigned -1 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= button 9 VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= button 11 VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= button 3 VPAD_SWING_BUNT= button 10 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= button 6 VPAD_FIELD_RELAY_THROW= button 7 VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= button 7 VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= button 10 VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= button 4 VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= button 2 VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= button 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= pov90 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= pov0 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= pov270 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= pov180 1 VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= button 8 VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= button 7 One more thing... welcome to the boards. rskjackson
Big Shmooz... I have the same gamepad as you mention above, but when I want to try and steal a base, there seems to be to much of a delay when I push the button to steal and the runner takes off. How do you handle that...and on the subject of the configuration in your post...can I just copy that into the file on my computer? Thanks... I think it is called gameplay tuning or something like that. 2.Yes, copy and paste.

megm
Thank you for help me, but i want to know how to do it with the keyboard, because i dont have gamepad... thank you
ixcuincle
To do it by keyboard steal base - pageup pickoff throw to 1st/2nd/throw - 0 key and base , bases represented by arrow keys , -> 1st , ^ , 2nd , <- 3rd etc demanding a questionable call - press + key and scroll the menus , go to home manager, go to argue call Be aware that you must use the numberpad for this. I think it is called gameplay tuning or something like that. 2.Yes, copy and paste. That won't work. You can't cut and paste in the in-game configuration screens. To use the settings that Big Shmooz listed, you have to go to your My Documents MVP Baseball 2005 folder and open up your controller.cfg file (it's a text file). Scroll down to the section that lists your controller and THEN do the cut and paste.

big shmooz
Thanks for that clarification...Is there am "accurate" setting or edit to get the potential base stealer to get a better jump? Yes. When you get to the main screen of MVP there is an option there called "My MVP". click on that. Then click on the option called "My MVP Options". Then click on the option called "Gameplay Tuning". Then choose the particular option of the mode you play in (pro, all star, MVP) & scroll down to the option called "User Runner Steal Delay" & lower the number as much as you want. This will make the delay be less before he takes off for the next base. Understand though that no matter what you do, he will not take off before the pitcher starts his windup. If you are looking for that, there is no such option in the game that allows that. Also, if you use my configuration, make sure to delete the one that is already there. rskjackson
Thanks for the info...I will give this a try. I would be interested in any suggestions on settings others use for various options in the game. I guess this would be a question for the slider section of the forums? I've been playing Pro, but would like to move up to MVP and if anyone has tested settings in that, I would like opinions and suggestions.

How do you move the hitter left or right in the batter's box? And how to boost the argue call bar?
ixcuincle
no clue how to move the batter left and right...I haven't been able to do that since High heat 2003... I have only argued once , there is a box that says (4) intensify argument. I think it is up arrow key but I am not sure...
SPL_Fabrication
to move the batter left and right, i use the backslash button under backspace along with 4 on the number pad for left or 6 for right.
