Serious Problem

I know that there are threads about the PS2 USB adapter, and I did do a search and found nothing that related to my problem.

A few nights ago while playing, my controller keep going off. So here I turn the game off and go to my controller settings and my controller is'nt listed. So here I figured it's the PS2 adapter cause it doent work everytime i plug it in.

So I'm out today and decide to get a new Adapter, same one as before the RadioShack one. So here I get home and I plug it in and I get an unknown devise message. I put in the installation CD and it runs. So here I go into the game and it's not showing up.

I did the device manager thing and it says that the drivers for this device is not installed. But I thought that gets installed with the CD installation. It does create a folder in C:/Program Files with 2 dll but the thing is'nt working. I checked the regedit and it's not their in my controller properties. Could that be the problem? And if so how do I get it in the registry? Please, If anyone can help me with this I'de be greatful for life cause playing with a PS2 controller is better then anything else.
