The pitching in the first two innings was atrocious as the Braves Blew up on the Marlins with 7 runs in the first 2 innings, including a homer from the pitcher Tim Hudson. The Marlins were showing signs of life with a solo dinger by Juan Pierre, but those signs were silenced after three straight strikeouts to end the inning. The Marlins trying to avoid an opening series sweep. Pitcher, dontrelle Willis said "Playing at the way we are now, we just want to win a game in this series. The most demoralizing thing for a team is getting swept in the opening series."
