Confusing Roster Issue

I am unable to import players at all. After they are imported, I have changed the photo ID to 0 to ensure that isn't the issue. When I go into the game, no matter what team I choose, the game crashes to the desktop. When I remove the player, the game is fine again. I tried importing to free agents to ensure it wasn't a team issue, and it crashed again. I removed the imported player, and I am fine. Also, when I create a new player, the game crashes. Remove the created player, and all is fine again. I am using the standard 900-915 face files with the 0 photo number. If I over-write an existing player, the game does not crash. I am scratching my head on this one. Any help will be greatly appreciated as i would like the ability to import and create new players again. This functionality was there for a while, but now it seems like my roster set is locked or something. Thanks again for any thoughts or solutions to this issue.

I ran that tool and my team rosters are fine. I have 166 free agents. The limit si 255, right? So, I should still be able to create or import players to my Free Agents. Nope, soon as I do, the game crashes right after selected day or night when starting a game. Remove the created or imported player from Free Agents, and the game is fine again. Really odd...

send me the .mep file for the player and i'll see if i can figure it out. i had a similar problem that gave me a lot of trouble for a couple days. my problem turned out to be the body type. anyone with a "slim" body type made my game crash. send it to splfabrication@aol.com and i'll see if i can figure it out.

Just as a test, try keeping your total number of players after your import the same as it was prior to the import.

In other words, after you import your player, delete one of the players from your rosters (free agent or non-free agent). Another option is to delete a player before you import your new player. While you should be able to keep 255 players on the free agents, perhaps internally you've exceeded some sort of limit. Make sure you back up your rosters before you do this so you can recover them (and the deleted player) if you need to.

You never said which rosters that you are trying to import the player to. Are they the standard EA rosters, someone else's rosters, Total Classics rosters? Which one? This could play a factor in your import problem.

For example, the Total Classics rosters have expanded some of the minor league teams from 22-man rosters to 25-man rosters. It's possible that expanding those teams could reduce the number of players that can be on the free agent rosters.

I am using an earlier ultimate roster v1.# ... As the updates come out, I have been attempting to import players from the higher versions. Thanks for your help on this. Most of my minor league teams are at 25. I guess there is a maximum number of total players then. That would make sense since I was able to create/import players without issue. Would anyone know what the max number is? I will compare the numbers to the latest ur roster set.

I have 3224 players in my roster set.... Could that be the "magic #"? I'll compare the latest ultimate roster set... Can anyone else submit there totals players in there roster sets?

well my theory took a hit... i can import players or create players using the latest UR v3.12 roster. That one has 34 extra players then my roster set:

That could very well be your problem. I've been working on the Total Classics 4 rosters (the follow on release to Total Classics 3). One of the improvements for TC4 will be expanding the classic teams that are in the AA slots from 22 to 25 players (all of the other teams already have 25-man rosters).

As I was doing this, I found that MVPEdit was crashing on me if I tried to access some of the players in the Free Agent pool. I got around the problem by reducing my Free Agent pool to 25 players.

You may be running into a similar problem.
