uspdude
this happened to my early last season, JD Drew was batting and hit this sharp liner straight back to the pitcher's face. I think that pitcher was on the disable list for like 200+ days http://img438.imageshack.us/img438/5900/headshot5iq.jpg anyway.. while im at it, can anyone tell me what is PPD means? I got this weird thing yesterday while im playing the game.. http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/8821/ppd5hb.jpg
MarkB
PPD generally means postponed.
UncleMo
I think you are stretching the truth with your pitcher being on the DL. I've hit MANY pitchers, and they never go on the DL.
Jeeper
I've hit many pitchers, but only one was injured, I can't remember who it was but the ball nailed him in the forehead. He had to come out of the game, but since he was the CPU's pitcher, I didn't see how long he was out.

FSSR.Keyno
I had that happen to my pitcher, "pitcher has a slight concushion, hope hes ok" and i had to get a new starter. PPD, ya know ive never had one yet!? And settings are active. A side note to PPD, i have FS2004(FlightSim) with real time and real weather. Wouldnt that be something for MVP 2006? PPD would really mean something. And Vlad hits one, but the wind from left field keeps it in play. Its out there, EA put it in! Keyno
Micropterus58
I must have hit seven or eight pitchers during the season. I hit one Texas Ranger pitcher in the collarbone and Soriano (2B) caught the ball for an out. That must have been an omen. A few days later Matt Clement took one off the head against the Orioles in real life.

lilloreo
The only time I saw an injury to a pitcher was in an exhibition game. I was the 'stros and pitching with Brad Lidge in the top of the 9th. He got hit off the right ankle and it said he had broken it! That was pretty cool. Unfortunately the didn't give a time frame for a return.
Lual
Carlos Zambrano got a fractured leg in my Dynasty, after getting a hard shot straight back at him He was stood on the field bent over and couldnt move - gave up a single too
Jeeper
I've had many CPU pitchers get hurt just throwing the pitches. They'll throw a pitch, and HeeHaw will say "Looks like he was injured..." I guess many of my CPU opponents are on the juice, and they have weak shoulders or something.

Reminds me of that horrible day in the 04 season in the MLB when Brad Penny got a nerve injury after throwing a pitch and was out for the season. cybernetic
Yeah I get those shoulder injuries quite a bit in games as well as the pitcher getting hit with a liner in the leg and leaving with a broken leg
Jagg76
I nearly got a ground-rule double off a pitcher's head once, and he wasn't injured. YEESH!
