Ok, well, if we're going to go through with this, we should start having a roll-call for, uh, roles. So without taking anything from Hory since it's his project, please post if you have any interest in working on stadium modification. You don't need to know oedit, or even stadium mod experience really, just mainly graphics experience in paint shop pro or photoshop.

I'd be happy to help out, but I'm useless when it comes to graphics.

- Yes, right now i'm just grabbing players from the default 03/04/05 rosters and TC just to compile a roster to work from - almost all the players attributes and stats will be wrong and need adjusting along with ages, salaries etc

- In the org.dat file changing value 5 - "is_franchise"

and changing their league and division in team.dat to the same as that of the mvp heroes team so they do not appear in any league.

i can help with some of the old stadium's graphics, i dont know anywthing about making a mod, or use some of the mvp edit or other stuff, but i spend like 2 hours per day using photoshop...so...im here...

You have to edit a little after that for jersey numbers and a few other things, but at least it will get you all the players and the lineups. You do have to pare down the roster to 25 men as well...

that being said here is what I did

I imported the 1994 Reds from Lahman DB

I used The Neyer / James Guide to Pitchers for pitch types

Used fanfaregames.com, memory, and guess work for batting stances & deliveries

grabbed uniform # from baseball-almanac.com

fixed lineups (from memory & retrosheet.org)

fixed rotation (94 reds only had 4 regular starters browning added as 5th)

Fixed warped attributes from the MVPedit import (example pitcher Pugh hit like the Babe and had a speed of 0)

Players that have faces are the ones still in the game and had EA faces or players in TC had that used EA stock faces

still to come:

work on players face assignments

work on player photo/audio IDs

maybe more tweaking

portraits

Here's the alpha version of the 1994 Rosters

Use these with the schedule.big and loc files I posted earlier to test out the 1994 season.

Bear in mind these "rosters' are just a starting point to work from and at this time are totally inaccurate and near useless for dynasty play.

Every team (except the reds) is messed up to some degree, ages, attributes, salaries, everything is wrong and needs to be adjusted.

Many players in AAA and on the FA list need to be deleted, and young prospects like A-Rod need to have their attributes significantly lowered.

Missing players (as listed above) have their spots filled by guys named 'jobber' or 'fake'

If anyone want to add players or update your team please by all means do so.

For players ages I am adding 11 years to their D.O.B

for the photo id I am using the EA id where possible, I'll work out a id system for other players later. Ditto for the salaries/ team budgets.

The All Star teams and managers still need to be changed too

a MET and a MEP file, I'm including the MEP because I'm have major problems importing and exporting teams for some reason. I'm getting an invalid MET file error sometimes when importing this MET file

I do not know if it is just me or a screwy met file, that is the reason for the mep file

I fixed the faces, and fixed the stats (no stats after 1994, career stats are through 94)

been siming 114 games of the season. Reds power #'s are a little high.

how did you make the schedule, did you make a util or do it by hand?

I used a OOTP 1994 sched and translated it over to mvp using textpad - which was pretty time consuming.

I will have to create a "year 2" sched w/o teh dbacks/drays at some point.

Attached are the 1994 rosters (in 3 parts due to forum filesize limits) with adjustments I've made today including removing all the custom cyberface ids so the teams won't crash when playing and fixing the FA list to stop mvpedit crashing.

So now this project seems to be up and running if you want to help with anything here is what needs to be done

Rosters - Missing players need to be created - For nearly all teams - Re-rating and checking accuracy of ratings, historical stat corrections, salaries and budgets still to be done.

All Star teams still to be completed.

Portraits - IDs need to be assigned, portraits need to be created for all teams using some from TC is a possibility (with permission)

Cyberfaces - old cyberfaces from 03-04 need to be collated, permission needed to use some from Tc.

Installer - kraw has offered to make an installer which will allow you to switch between mvp 2005 and 1994

Unis - A list needs to be compiled of what 1994-accurate uniforms are currently available for each team, and perhaps missing unis created if possible.

Ballparks - A list to be compiled listing 1994 accuracy (or inaccuracy) of currrently available ballparks with a suggested subsitute if there is no park available (e.g Mile High etc)

Artwork - Pretty 1994 centric logos/ CTS themes etc are welcome
