DAJ17
anyone have a walkthrough on how to set up configuration on 32-bit windows vista? all of the links on this topic are dead. all I have is MVP '05 installed and the 360 controller with MS drivers installed. the stuff I am reading on here is taking me in circles because all of the links are dead. anyone out there that can help? it doesn't even recognize the controller in the setup menu of the game. Ive spent 3 hrs looking for what to do. I need to get some links that aren't dead.
lcc337
I have been going out of my mind trying to get my wireless 360 controller to work correctly w/ MVP 07, and no matter what I try, I cannot get it to work. I try to follow the steps left by Kraw, but I am running Vista and when I get to steps 12 and 13, things don't match up. I am not sure what I am suppose to point it to look for. I cannot get the mvp profile driver from the site either. So when I go to the XBCD part, it does not let me open anything. MVP picks up my controller, but I have the same proplem as other people where the X button brings up line up info. I am doing something wrong, but I have no idea what it is. If someone knows, please hook it up. Thanks in advance.
mikeybags
People who are having trouble....READ THIS POST- You have to go into the controller.cfg file and make sure you have all of your settings right. In mine it has FOUR things listed, instead of 3 (the 3 being controller, key1, key2). The 4th is the controller again, with the settings all screwed up. So then you have this- Notice the Xbox 360 controller being listed twice...the top entry and bottom entry. In yours the settings will be different. Also...after fiddling around, I figured out that you CAN hit batters, and use intentional walks. All you have to do is press the button you set it as, but WHILE you hole in the left bumper. StormJH1
Thanks, mikeybags, that was actually very easy to get the 360 controller to work. Any the wireless adapter only cost me $14!. However, I think some of those buttons appear to be reversed, since the blue (X) button would and the LB button (I think) were exchanged, and the START button could be used to throw one of the pitches! Haha. I should be able to figure that out though...I was surprised it was that easy to get it even partially working.
mikeybags
Make sure you have all 4 entries in the config file and not just 3. It adds a 4th one once you use the xbox 360 controller, and that's usually where it seems things go wrong. People edit the whole first one ("Xbox_360_Controller_for_Windows"), but don't edit the last ("Controller_(Xbox_360_Wireless_Receiver_for_Windows)"). I think it's the last one that makes the difference, but I try to make sure the first and last one are the same, just to be sure.
StormJH1
Yep, I had to reinstall the game anyway, and the controller worked perfectly when I re-did the config file. It works much better than I thought it would, and far better than any PC-dedicated controller I've had in the past.

snake4812
download and use the XBCD driver, don't change the MVP cfg file and just use the configuration in XBCD to fix the MVP controls I spent about 30 minutes just playing 2 player in MVP and messing with the XBCD configuration until i got it right and it works like a charm now

snake4812
I am a noob too, just went through this the other day. This site gives great instruction on how to install the driver http://xbcd360guide.50webs.com/guide.html follow that step by step- i stress FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS if you can't find the controller in Device Manager look ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM, it's in there somewhere let me know if you have any other problems and i'll try to help
Luis008
In the XCBD setup utility, i can' t select the controller
snake4812
if you still cannot see the controller in XBCD you did not follow all of the directions on the web page above. You have to go into device manager and manually install the XBCD driver on your device. Go back to that web page and follow all of the steps again and it should work
Luis008
I've vista. and when i try to install the drivers, it tells me " the driver is up to date..."
snake4812
i'm not familiar with vista but you need to find a way to manually install the XBCD driver over the microsoft one. If you can find the device in Device Manager right click and click the drivers tab. In the hardware update wizard the default is Install software automatically, but you want INSTALL FROM A LIST OR SPECIFIC LOCATION (ADVANCED) and from there click DON'T SEARCH. I WILL CHOOSE THE DRIVER TO INSTALL and then XBCD should be on the list to choose. The thing is if you let it update the driver automatically it will always use the Microsoft, find a way to update the drive MANUALLY or from a list and then you will be able to choose XBCD and then it will work when u go into the XBCD configuration
