roster19
I remember playing some old school Triple Play, and I threw about 15 pickoff throws before the word BALK splattered the screen and the runner advanced to second safely. I never truly understood what a balk was so I thought I'd try to get one in MVP 2005, unfortunately all that ever happened was that the ball would not be caught by the 1st baseman and I never got a balk. So can anyone explain to me what a balk is and how I can get one in MVP?
rolliefingers08
a balk is, in simple terms, when the pitcher does something to try and decieve the runner. it can include not pausing in the stretch position before beginning his motion, faking a throw to first (not not 2nd or 3rd), throwing to first without clearing the rubber with the back foot, putting your hand to your mouth while on the mound, and stuff like that. and a funny story about that, in a provincial semi-final game a couple years ago, a kid was on the mound during a really windy game. he goes into his motion, lifts his leg, and a big wind gust causes him to lose his balance with a runner on 3rd, so he fell down and the team won the game on a walk off balk. ncsufreak2006
Once on High Heat Baseball, I won on a walk-off walk by Cleveland's Danys Baez. It was sweet.
