bravefan
Stop these choppy graphics. I've bought (2) video cards in two days. I got rid of my old Ati card...bought a Nvidia 6200 Geforce 128 it didn't help. I took that one back and got a Ati Radeon 9550 256. The graphics look way better, but the game dosen't run smooth. Anyone with a Ati card have any suggestions. Also, should I use all (3) patches for this game or maybe the latest.
JoeRudi26
I have the same ATI card that you have and my game runs great. Definately install the patches. The second patch (I believe) was specifically made for the stuttering problems. Get the latest drivers for your card if you haven't already. You could also try messing the your screen resolution, tweak your card settings, and maybe even trying different refresh rates on your monitor. I think some people even turned V-Sync off on the card to get better results.
baseballfans
I suggest U post this message in the 05 support section http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewforum/f=28.html Can U describe how choppy? Is it going too fast or it pauses too much? Do some screen capture so we better understand your situation.
bravefan
Sorry...I will move this to the right forum!!! It just seems like lag when online. The game run at normal speed, but when the screen rotates or fielding a ground ball the transition is choppy. I have the latest drivers and all three patches. Filthy57
How much RAM does your computer have? The problem may not be with your video card, it may be just that you don't have enough memory.
UncleMo
Also, your video card is a bit old. Both of the ones you bought. So if you've installed the stadiums, faces, uniforms, etc, then you'll get some choppiness. I'm about to buy the 6600GT from Nvidia to solve my chop-chop-chopiness issues. To be honest even if U had the greatest PC/video card on the market right now, the game will lag ONLINE. Connecting to someone else PC or on a server, you get inconsistent speed. Your PC maybe fine but we don't know about the other person, so your PC have to adjust to other person to make it run decently.
bravefan
No sorry, What I meant was the choppiness looks like lag when online. I'm playing regular game play. The only mods I have are the Grass texture mod and The kccity total MLB mod. Should I uninstall these mods?

bravefan
I thought i would let you guys having problems with choppy graphics like myself know that a program called Xp Smoker. It might do you some good. I've had this for a while mainly using it for faster web surfing. Then I remembered it has a feature called GAME BOOST. When Activated, It shuts down alot of process and applications that might slow down gameplay. I run alot of apps. like Window blinds, Desktop X and so on. Once I disabled these apps. with Xp Smoker, I ran Mvp, Live 06 and Tiger 06, and all the games ran smoother with high detail. When finished just De-Activate the Game Boost feature. It worked fine for me, It might do the same for you.
