bjbinc
I have read through every topic dealing with this issue, but none of them are exactly the same as my problem. I can play all day long in Play Now mode, but when I play in Owner mode the game crashes to the desktop at totally random points. Different teams, stadiums, etc. It just gives the send error report message. This is a fresh install with no patches or mods and with default rosters. I even reformatted and bought a new video card. I tried it with the lowest possible display settings and disabling antialiasing. The game runs great even with the highest possible settings at 1280x1024 resolution. Here's my computer specs. Windows XP Professional SP2 Pentium 4 3.0 ghz CPU (not overclocked) 1 gb DDR PC3200 RAM nVidia GeForce 6600 w/ 256mb ram (Newest 81.85 drivers) Brand new 430 watt Power Supply Crappy onboard sound (but have tried with other cards, not a sound problem) Store bought version, not using no-cd crack No background processes running Thanks in advance for any ideas! bjbinc
Ok, finally fixed it. Turns out my video card was overheating! Removed side panel and pointed a regular deskfan into the case. Played for hours, no problemo!
MarkB
My God, I thought I was the only person to have done that! Don't forget to get a good, long term PC fan. :)
danf
roflmao @ pointing a fan into the side of the pc.... and my wife thought I was crazy for doin that... worked fairly well for me too... except for when it was the middle of the summer and the kid wanted his fan back in his room.
