Sidewinder
I believe Krawhitham does the Installers for Total Portraits and Total Audio packs. Maybe he can help me here. When I use the Installer on Total Portraits, it goes to the DOS window and then runs a few lines and shoots back to the Installer window saying it is finished, but it is not and nothing has changed in the Portrait.big file. The Installer does make a new folder in my CProgram FilesEA Sports directory named MVPBAS~2, but it is empty. So what is going on? Originally, I had no problems using the Installer, but then my original MVP install was changed to Total Classics 3 and I did another dedicated install for MVP forgetting to save all the Total Portraits I had already installed previously when I deleted the 1st install of MVP before doing a clean one for the Total Classics 3 install. I hope that makes sense. Anyways I would really like to get these portraits installed again, but I dont know the external graphics editors at all and am clueless with them. Hopefully, someone knows the error in what's happening here and can point me in the right direction. Thanks
krawhitham
the installer pulls Registry infomation that was set when you installed the game using EA's installer (on disc 1) if for some reason the registry keys are not set (just copied over the files, moved the directory MVP was in, or are using a warez version of the game) the installer will not work
Sidewinder
No warez here. But, with the amount of dual installs guys are using for MVP and Total Classics, your install method needs to be adjusted so this issue doesnt exist and we can use these great mods. Can you do that? Or do you have a quick registry edit to allow it to work? Thanks

Thanks sorry, unless Hory asks for it no I like the idea of locking WAREZ users out 3 choices 1) you could put MVP in the correct directory, and put TC in the new folder 2 )you could use http://mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=2569.html might have to reinstall for that one, or at least move MVP back to its install DIR 3 ) edit the regkey, if it is not a warez version, then just search for it and change it to the current folder
big shmooz
Sidewinder... I have a very detailed tutorial on how to install portraits in the first post of the announcements section in the sticky that I started in that forum. It really is simple to do once you know the steps. As far as the audio id files, it's the same process to install as the portraits.

Where in the registry should I look. That sounds like the cure for what ails here. Thanks
Sidewinder
Ok, here is the latest. I found EA's reg code from the back of my cd case in the registry under HKey Local MachineSoftwareElectronic ArtsEA SportsMVP Baseball 2005ergc. I did this to verify that I did buy the game way back at the end of February and can verify the 5 set code. So lets put that crap to rest. I have been a member of this board and the High Heat board since the early days and I need some help so I can enjoy these last few mods without tearing my current installs apart. I am looking to edit my registry as this would be the simplest way to fix my issues once and for all. Now what do I need to edit. I also edited the install directory in the registry under HKey Local MachineSoftwareEA SportsMVP Baseball 2005 to C:PROGRA~1EASPOR~1MVPBAS~1. That last part had been MVPBAS~2. When I run the latest Yankees Total Portrait installer now, the DOS window when paused says this: Warning Parsing Script: Line 2: File '*.fsh' not found. Action is skipped Note Mounting FS: No file system found Note Mounting BIGs: opening portrait.big That is all I can see if I pause the DOS window quick enough, otherwise it just closes on its own. There is more info, I just cant ever pause it quick enough to see it. I am guessing I need to do something in the Registry so that the file system can be found. Is that correct and what would that be?
Sidewinder
Alright, I got all the Total Portraits to install. What I ended up doing is swapping all the info in both installs(MVP and TC3) by cut and pasting. Still that didnt seem to do it, so based on seeing that Total Portraits would install a folder named MVPBAS~1 in my C:Program FilesEA Sports, I renamed my MVP Baseball 2005 main installed folder to MVPBAS~1 and that did it. The game plays fine so far as does the TC3 install. Funny thing though is the Total Audio wont install with the Installer. It opens up the DOS window and then shuts down right away. The way I test it is too see if Barry Bonds name is announced, but no go. Any help on this one? Also, it appears all the teams have a Total Portraits Installer, except for the Angels, which is the team I use the most. Can we get an Angels pack with the Installer?
