Scouting Reports

C Brad Ausmus-Ausmus isn't very aggressive at the plate and doesn't consistently get on top of the ball most of the time. He still has a good eye and will draw about 50 walks a year. He is very strong, but rarely gets good elevation on the ball. Defensively, he is one of the best in the game. He hardly ever lets any balls get past him, and even though he doesn't have the arm he used to, he'll still throw out many would-be stealers. He's a slow baserunner, but has a career average of 9 steals per year.

Contract: 4Y, $2M, MLB Everyday

1B Albert Pujols-Pujols has often been compared to greats such as Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams. He sometimes has the tendancy to appear anxious on offspeed pitches away, and occasionally is prone to high, hard stuff. However, he turns on the best hard stuff with amazing consistency. Pitching him away runs the risk of him using his amazing power to the the opposite field. Pujols is a superb breaking-ball hitter, and learns more and more about the strike zone every year. He is a dream #3 hitter.

Contract: 6Y, $14.3M, MLB Indispensable

SS Cesar Izturis-Izturis is considered by many the best defensive shortstop in baseball. He has great range, a very accurate arm, and always makes routine plays. At the plate, Izturis is a great leadoff hitter. He doesn't draw many walks, but is quick out of the box and has great speed. He is a good low fastball hitter and doesn't ground into many double plays.

Contract: 1Y, $8M, MLB Everyday

3B Morgan Ensberg-Considered a top prospect for many years, Ensberg is quickly becoming one of the best power hitters in the National League. He does do his best when he just swings away, but draws many walks. Ensberg will sacrifice contact for power, but has a career batting average of .276. Defensively, he is good when he lays out to snare a line drive. Ensberg is not a good baserunner, and tends to get thrown out way too much trying to steal.

Contract: 2Y, $500K, MLB Indispensable

LF Cliff Floyd-Floyd is a good hitter with great pop, but does have his weaknesses. He is very injury-prone, and has played over 145 games only 3 times in his career. Recently he has struggled against left-handers, and hasn't been drawing many walks against them. Floyd is great against right-handers though, and is almost guaranteed to hit .280 against them. Floyd has good speed and great instincts on the bases.

Contract: 2Y, $6.5M, MLB Everyday

CF Andruw Jones-Jones has been amazing baseball fans ever since he came into the league. He homered in his first two World Series at-bats at age 19. Prior to the 2005 season, Jones opened up his batting stance which made a huge diffrence in his power. Jones would go into many slumps before he changed his stance, and his only noticeable slump this year came in April. Jones has great speed, but lacks the aggressiveness on the basepaths that he once had. Andruw is one of the best defensive outfielders in the history of baseball. He has perfect range, an elite arm, and gets great jumps.

Contract: 5Y, $12.5M, MLB Indispensable

RF Matt Stairs-Stairs is a guess hitter who will always try for the fences. He has a great batting eye, and will draw a good number of walks. Stairs can crush inside heat, and also will not swing and miss at a curveball. Stairs can play right field, left field or 1st base, but is not good at any of the positions. He does have a good eye on flyballs and gets good jumps, but has a below-average arm and terrible range. He is slow on the bases, but has good instincts.

Contract: 1Y, $1M, MLB Everyday

C Ramon Castro-Castro is a good backup catcher. He has a strong arm, and a fair bit of pop. He doesn't make good contact though, and is a terrible baserunner.

Contract: 2Y, $400K, MLB Situational

3B Chone Figgins-Every team would love to have Figgins. In his career, he has played 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base and all 3 outfield positions. He has amazing speed and but does make mistakes on the basepaths and is a below-average bunter. Figgins gives up power for average, so it is a mystery why he strikes out so often.

Contract: 2Y, $700K, MLB Indispensable

In my opinion, you have a very good team.

With Pujols at first, and Carlos Zambrano on the mound, you shouldn't have many errors at 1st. As long as Morgan Ensberg can control his throws, you should get grounders from 3rd to 1st quickly and safely. I would remind you of taking a little bit of time setting up the throw from 3rd, as well as SS, and Second Base, but I'm sure you probably know that by now. But it depends,

which brings up the question, how long have you been playing MVP '05?

I have had it for probably at least 2 and a half, or 3 months, but I would consider myself pretty good at the game. Also, which console do you have?

Good Luck, Acmack94

That's a relief, I am still planning on following this franchise to see what happens throughout the season. Are you planning on giving reports on what's going on in this dynasty? I think it would be cool if you would give game recaps every other game or something on your MLB team, and give us some of your MVP Inbox messages for Injured Players, Suspentions, and things like that to give this blurb some popularity. Look out for me to put something on this section about my Angels Dynasty. I'm about halfway through the season, but that's really not a problem. Oh by the way, if you can pick up Jeff Nelson, with my franchise he has pitched over 25 seasons with a 0.22 ERA and an 8-0 record. See ya Azumah23,

ACMACK94
