acmack94
Okay, I'm at Ameriquest Field and there's a simple roller to 2B, so my short stop picks up the ball and throws to 1st, well it was overthrown ALOT and Pujols jumps up tries to catch it but it ends up going into the stands. I though that would end up being a run, but the runner stops at second and play continues. That was fine with me, but is that the rules? Thanks, ACMACK

fabiomontiel
The runner who was running to 1st base, have to go to 2nd base and the ball is dead, the play stops there.
chubbyd
The rule on any overthrown ball that goes out of play is one base, i.e. first to second. Same applies if you are trying to throw a guy out at third, and it goes out of play. He gets the base plus one, third and home.
