Hollywood
Fast runner and go on a off speed pitch.
KAuss
If the AI wants to throw you out, theres nothing you can do... I can't even steal second off an off speed pitch with Carl Crawford... The CPU can steal 2nd with Troy Glaus... My catcher's arm is in the 75's area and accuracy is same... Half my team has 85+ speed and it makes no difference... VS humans however, everything comes into play more... I just pick a fast team to keep me from playing hit and run all the time because it's usually a sure out... MadHatter
I've been able to steal 3rd in AA games. But never on the major league level. My guess is it's because the pitchers throw slower and the catchers don't have very strong arms.
rolliefingers08
KAuss, do you not know what sliders are? if you don't find things realistic, adjust the sliders so that they are.
wickethewok
Yeah, adjust the sliders. I usually only try it with Carl Crawford or Chris Duffy (my resident major league fast people) against poor throwing catchers.
AstroEric
I get thrown out at third alot because my hitters cannot make contact on the hit and run. :whiny-*****-emoticon --Eric
Sidewinder
You can take an additional two step lead after the default lead. I will take one of the two steps and then hit the steal button and then take the extra step trying to get a walking jump. It is not too tough to do. Once in a while I will get picked, but I steal alot of bases including 3B. It helps if it is an off-speed pitch too.

Guest JWClubbie
The only way I think you can steal 3rd is with a guy with 90 plus speed. Maybe even 93 or higher..... Get a good jump

Sandlot
I steal on a breaking ball count. Or simply just steal on Wakefield. :p
rolliefingers08
i only attempt third with kotsay, breaking ball count, and with a crappy catcher.
AstroEric
Also, try stealing on Mike Piazza. He will throw it ten feet over your head and you can go ahead and trot home. --Eric
KAuss
I've actually gotten a lot more 2nd base steals now, but mostly by Crawford... The AI still gets some speed 60ish guys stealing second off me late in the game when they need though... I don't generally like stealing anyways, and I don't midn the AI putting on the pressure... I just wish they aren't so predictable... I just hate their sacrafice bunts... It's almost 80%...
