krawhitham
submitted by me, also lets say these were how EA did their rosters in 06 u would all have to adjust anyway if you bought the game just use the roster on disc one.
Tony3
Anyway, having 255 players added in one patch is not that bad.
krawhitham
since EA is not doing a MLB game in 06, why do we even care what #'s they give new players anymore it is not like thoose player will have EA's portraits or audio next year
Hory
Perhaps new portraits are what EA is adding in the final roster patch ?
krawhitham
Perhaps new portraits are what EA is adding in the final roster patch ? they would either have to supply a .big file utility with the patch, or the patch would be over 100 meg to download
D.M.Z.
they would either have to supply a .big file utility with the patch, or the patch would be over 100 meg to download A new patch containing portraits would be awesome but I'm assuming that the 5th patch will contain off-season player movement and attribute changes similar to the January roster that comes with the cd every year. D.M.Z.
I don't know how to do it but is it possible to create a utility that converts the 4th and the upcoming 5th patch roster to the earlier attrib.dat file style and then be converted to consoles? Pedro67
You need to look for the original roster files located in the roster section here on the site, at least you do if you are using a different roster. EA "patches" require the original files. Good luck with this patch...Im still looking for more responses. Ok, I am new at this so please bare with me Could someone please tell me step-by-step what to do so I can install this patch ? I do have the game so I can get anything off of the game CD's if I need to. Thanks, Pete
angels
Yeah I am really hoping that rglass can make another updated version of mvpedit soon. I'm getting ancsious to be able to edit my rosters again with it.
Tony3
that converts the 4th patch roster to the earlier attrib.dat file style? Try this converted attrib.dat file, Mr. D.M.Z. :)
spitoon
Ok, I am new at this so please bare with me Could someone please tell me step-by-step what to do so I can install this patch ? I do have the game so I can get anything off of the game CD's if I need to. Thanks, Pete Generally that problem can be fixed by replacing the /database folder with the stock one found on CD1. What I'd do is this: 1) rename the current /database folder to /mydatabase (Right click, select rename, type the new name). 2) find the stock /database on CD1. If I recall, it's compressed in a file called compressed.zip. Copy and paste that file to your desktop, then right click it and select unzip. 3) copy and paste the stock /database into your /MVP Baseball 2005/data folder 4) run the patch 5) delete the newly created /database folder 6) rename /mydatabase back to /database If you are still having problems, you can just grab and move that error box to see what file it is getting hung up on and replace that file only. Repeat as needed to let the patch complete installation.
Pedro67
thank you so much spitoon. I replaced the file it was getting hung up on (sushared.big) with the original from the game CD and then the patch installed successfully. Thanks again for your help, Pete
krawhitham
btw the sushared.big is like the last file to be patched. If you hang on that one you already have the EXE and the roster
Kccitystar
sushared.big only contains the loading screen that says all the legal info, the roster date just changes from whatever date it was to 10/02/05 I think. -KC
Hory
A Fifth and final patch is looking very probable from the OS forums... "...yesterday (11/25) was the roster cutoff for the upcoming patch, so expect to see Beckett, Delgado, and Thome on new teams, but not B.J. Ryan, as that's yet to be made official. As I've said before, free agents that haven't switched teams will still be on their former teams, as our FA pool isn't big enough to support everybody and the rosters would look very odd."
