Kriegz
Thought it would be a cool idea if we had an awards typed thing by the end of the year. Of course we still have some time, but christmas is already creeping up and we would need time to plan this. What we would do is have a panel of maybe 20 voters, maybe less, that vote for awards on different topics. Some topics would be... -Poster of the Year -Team Spirt -News Bot -Funniest Poster -Best Team Spirit ...and other off topic things could be thought up. And then of course we would have mod awards like... -Modder of the Year -Stadium Modder of the Year -Stadium Mod of the Year -Roster Modder of the Year -Roster of the Year ect. Let me know if anyone would be interested in this, I would be willing to help with running the whole process if the mods are down with it. Kriegz
Another topic could be Graphic Artist of the Year, the voting process would nail it down to 5 candidates for each topic, and then those nominees would be posted, then the final voting would occur. If anyone has any more topic ideas please post.

The Big O
I think this is a great idea and and the winners could get a custom sig or avatar and title. And if people are throwing out nominations I'll nominate Pirate for Stadium Modder of the Year just for the amount of quality stadiums he put out - just simply amazing. Don
The format should have 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards, so that no one would be left out of the award.
Kriegz
Thats kind of what nominations is. It's best because it doesn't have everyone being better than another person, which starts arguments. Just 5 nominations, which is a big compliment, and 1 that leads the pack. Yankee4Life
Well, I have to tell you all that this idea and things similar to this has been thrown around by us in the past. I believe as far back as June I made a suggestion about this when we had our staff meetings and it has had a lot of positive feedback from each staff member. However, over the course of time this idea got put on the back burner. Kind of like how the FF-MS teams were for a bit until that was revived, and you all see how popular that has been since it started up again. I am going to tell Trues about this and I will go bring up my original thread on this because Cartersyard brought in some pretty good ideas on how the voting should be and what should be voted on. What I want to be able to let him know is what kind of things besides the topics you already brought up can be voted on? And do just the moderators vote? I for one will only vote for people that are current members of this board. We have a lot of graphics people in here that do great work. Tribetime, Friedman, BBHDan, KC, etc, etc. I think that area is going to be a tough vote because of the quality work. I don't believe that anyone who quits the board should be even considered for a vote. You should be current members in here. The stadium modders will be another tough one. Pirate? The team of PaulW and SeanO? Wow. Don't expect to hear much or anything at all during the Thanksgiving week about this. But I will give notice to Trues about this thread. Thank you for your interest and for bringing this up.
Kriegz
I agree that banned people should not be included. Thanks for supporting the idea.

But so you saying if someone gives their heart and soul for the 1st 10 months of the year and then decides he has/needs/ or wants to spend his free time in the real world and will not be posting here anymore, we should forget about him. forget what he did, just act like he does not exist anymore? sounds like you have a problem with someone that has already left, and you do not want that someone winning any awards

Right now this has just been brought up by TT and now it has taken off. SeanO came up with a very good list to consider. And no, I am not saying if someone spent most of the year posting in here and contributing and like you say gave their heart and soul in here, would not be considered for anything. That would not be the right way to go about it. Things do happen as you alluded to that people need to spend time away from here in the real world doing what is required of them. I'm sure we can think of a lot of people that were here at the beginning or the middle of the year that were active in the forums but are not that active now because of one reason or another. Personal responsibilities come first. I'd love to be able to do what the heck I wanted to all day instead of having to go to work, but I can't. It's how things are. What we mean is, banned people would be out of consideration, not people who contributed earlier and decided to take time off. The winners could get a little sig bar that I would be willing to do and also Friedman volunteered. I'm going to start to put together a list of topics in my first post and see just how many we would be looking at.

Banned people won't be considered for anything. It is rare that a modder is banned in the first place. I can only think of two. Timay (who made uniforms) and gforce22 (rosters I believe) are the only modders that come to mind that are permanently banned. The others that are banned are not modders. People that decide to take time off from here because of school or some kind of committment or maybe because they felt like it will be considered to as far as I am concerned. What won't be considered are the people that don't fall into this category.
Kriegz
GForce didn't do that much this year anyways, or did he? Anyways, I have 15 'Forum Categories' up in my first post, if anyone has any new topics that they want in or existing ones you want out, please speak up. I'll start to put together a 'Modding' list now.

Yankee4Life
You know, I just thought of something concerning these awards and how some people may react to or may not react to getting an award. I'm sure some of you graphics people remember not too long ago the stink that Deathnotronic caused because he didn't win that graphics contest because he accused people of knowing the results before they were announced and he was crying favoritism too. If you also notice, because of him we have not had a graphics contest since then. And we did have plans of doing the World Series winner, the award winners in the AL and NL, etc. All because of one jerk that isn't here anymore he ruined it for everyone. Now I don't want to put a damper on this, but couldn't this happen with this awards thing you are proposing? I am not taking away anything from this because I like this idea. I've already made a post so Trues can see it for himself. But I think what I said should be considered too. As far as I am concerned, Deathnotronic ruined the graphics contests in here. I just don't want anything like it to happen again.
