spitoon
What do the following represent in the game: Pitch Speed - Does this speed up the game and players time before pitches or merely the pitches velocity. CPU Pitcher Ball Rate - As above, what does this do? Pitching MG Difficulty??? As far as I understand it: Pitch Speed - the alters the speed at which the pitch appears to approach the plate. There has been significant debate as to whether or not this affects the ball physics...I say NO, it has no effect on how hard a pitcher throws the ball, it simply adjusts the visual of the ball coming to the plate. + is faster, - is slower. CPU Pitcher Ball Rate - adjusts how many balls (out of the strike zone)a CPU pitcher will throw. + means more balls, - means less. One of the main complaints for MVP 2004 was that it was near impossible to draw a walk from a CPU pitcher. This year it's much better and is adjustable to your liking with the slider. Now if they could just fix it so the USER actually threw some balls.... Pitching MG difficulty - adjusts how hard the pitching MiniGame is. big shmooz
Now if they could just fix it so the USER actually threw some balls.... With the datafile you can do exactly that. (I know that it is not EA who fixed it but the bottom line is, it can be done)

(I know that it is not EA who fixed it but the bottom line is, it can be done) I know (actually it was my mod that first discovered this), but it's far from perfect. Even with my datafile adjustments, I rarely throw more than 1 or 2 walks in a game.
