Well, I had this idea long ago, when thinking back to the fantasy teams I used to create on one of the old NBA Live series games for the Sega Mega Drive (who remembers that?), but I never gave it serious consideration. However, I've been thinking about it again recently, and wanted to see if anyone would be interested.

Basically, the strucure is really basic. If possible, rappers wil be coming from their own home towns or cities, so in the New York teams you'd see 2Pac, Biggie, DMX, Nas etc. In Oakland, you'd see Too $hort. In Los Angeles, you'd see Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. In Detroit, you'd see Eminem, along with the rest of D12. In Chicago, Kanye West and Twista.

Get the idea?

Ratings are based on popularity and how good they actually are. One rating for popularity, one rating for power. Star rating will also be used.

Appearances will be based on the actual person.

Fielding ratings (fielding, range, speed etc.) will be based on the size and condition of the person. (Example, 2Pac would have a high fielding rating due to his physical condition, Biggie would have a slightly (;)) lower rating. This would also have an effect on their position.

The only problems I imagine woud be getting enough rappers to fill the teams, but I think if we go back enough, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

So, anyone want to give it a shot? I'm hoping that if we get enough interest, we can start compiling rosters etc. and maybe get some cyberface modders interested. Veesmack has already done a fantastic 2Pac cyberface, so he's a candidate to become involved, if interested.

Anyway, let me know. :)

Putting my disklike for rap and hip hop aside, I voted yes because it seems like an interesting idea. Now if it were rock and we included guys like Lennon, Elvis, Roger Waters, Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, Bono, etc., then I'd be really interested.

Yeah, that's a concern, but we should be able to find some decent underground rappers, or at least guys who haven't been heard of too much but are signed.

I'll do some research on it tomorrow. I'm waaaaay too tired right now.

Yeah, I'm guessing that's because people who don't even like hip-hop are voting.

Just to make it a bit clearer, the vote is only intended for people who actually like hip-hop. I can figure out for myself that Billy Bob James from Ye Olde Farm in Kentucky isn't too concerned about the latest hip-hop music that's out.

Hmmm...I just had a second idea. How about a hip-hop/rock mod, where, say, the American League has teams containing hip-hop artists and the National League has teams containing rock musicians? Less players to be found and created from one genre, and it could provide some interesting competition.

Death Row Records vs. Guns 'N' Roses?

Wu Tang Clan vs. The Beatles?

Hmmm...

Um.... isn't that basiclly what I just posted two post before?

I have vote "YES"

I don't Know if I considere myself a Cyberface Modder

but I can try helping with some faces.

If you acept this is an idea:

* get the name of all guys (rappers and rockers) you want in and post it

* then we can split the list between the faces modders.

what you say?

Yeah, those guys would all be in it. I'm not even at the stage of setting up rosters yet, I'm just trying to gauge how many people would b interested in it.

Medric, I thought you were just suggesting team names.

It would be cool if you can make the American League Hip-Hop and the National League Rock Music or something like that.

And how about stats based on record sales numbers. Like weeks in number 1, total albums sold etc....

Then you can have our current hip hop stars and rock stars against music giants like Elvis vs slim shady and Nirvana vs the Beatles....Murder Inc vs G Unit or the funkadelics (with prince, lionel ritchie, g. clinton etc..) vs outcast (andre 3000, big boi, sleepy

It will have nothing to do with MLB, it will be a self-contained modification based on MVP 2005.

Is there a need for it? No. Is there a desire for it? Judging from the posts in this thread, yes.

Do you have similar concerns with the Celebrity Rosters project?
