JP_Frost
I have to write an essay criticizing a television program using the train of thought of a theorist of the popular culture and then use another to praise the program. It's giving me a headache. I'd rather play some MVP or something uneducational like that. Anyone care to speak on Post-structuralism and Postmodernism in the present television culture? P.S. This all has to be in dutch of course, while we have an english book :(

AstroEric
Look up an episode of House M.D. called "Three Stories" (season 1, episode 21). In addition to being the best episode of any TV show I've ever seen, it's a field day for postmodernist television theorists--metafiction, multi-layered, multi-linear storytelling, character swapping, and more. Also, if'n you can find a copy, Patrick McGoohan's "The Prisoner" series is chock full of postmodern elements...I see a lot of Pynchon influence, among others. --Eric
