frankynaky
Never did i think there would be a year where i could no look forward to brand new PC baseball game! I anticipated MVP 2006 so much that it was going to be the only game i would buy all year! I mean... Madden 2006 - is just Madden 2005 with a roster update and totally un-modable! NBA Live 2006 - like the NBA, once Micheal Jordan retired and my city (Vancouver) lost its team, it just didnt matter anymore! NHL 2006 - HOCKEY SUCKS - and i'm Canadian - but maybe the game will be better next year with a cap and new rules implemented - but will EA stiff us on a pc hockey game too? I wouldn't bet agaisnt it. Fifa 2006 - It's soccer, enough said! But PC baseball games always brought me the most happiness! The best game ever though, was not MVP, but high heat baseball because it was fully modable. There was the problem that the game crashed like hell (and that is the only reason i stopped playing it) but the fact that you could mod portraits during "dynasty mod" was amazing! But MVP baseball 2005, even with all the talented programmers in this community, will never reach the heights of "modibility" that modders in high heat baseball 2005 could reach! I mean they figured out how to change anything, when ever you wanted - Before the season, during dynasty, etc. The problem is of course is while high heat modders had direct communication with the creators of the HH2005 game, the modders on MVP 2005 dont have that luxury and never will For that reason this game cannot improve past roster updates, cyberface updates, and portraits updates BEFORE you start a dynasty. But in the end what is the point of that !! I dont mean to bash anyones work in here because its incredible and its what made me love MVP to the extent that i do! But lets be real this game has reached its limitations, unless we get source code, no new modding ground will be broken. For that reason i'm verry sad, heartbroken, because i know MVP 2005 is the last hurray for PC baseball gamers. I don't blame anyone but 2k sports for taking away a treasure which they will never come close to matching. Even worse, they decided not to realease it for PC and i pray that for christmas they go bankrupt or terrorist put a bug on their computer networks which puts them out of business. For this community I only blame you for getting my hopes up, because you know you cannot mod this game any further without some contact from the game producers. In my lifetime i know i will never be able to mod portraits or cyberfaces during dynasty mode - its a sad sad reality. So this is the last video game i will ever play - i hate consoles and will never own one - why? - simple, you cant mod! WIth the end of MVP baseball - i feel the death of this site will be imminant! This will be climax of this sites glory unless we get the source code. Sad reality, but true. Baseball game lover since Roger Clemens baseball to MVP 2005! DEATH TO 2K sports! frankynaky
I"M CANADIAN - we hate college anything! Believe it or not, we have college football and college basketball in Canada- but the stadiums are always half empty. The irony is that NCAA baseball 2005 is made in Canada, though nobody in Canada cares about college baseball. College baseball is boring, and there is a reason why 99 percent dont make MLB - they are players who lack in talent and any shomanship that would get me to sit down and watch. PLUS in the NCAA there are verry few latinos, and asians; two races that make the game great, but that can only be found at the MLB level. NCAA is a white sport, because most minorities go trough the minor leagues. I dont want to play a game that does not represent what the MLB does: diversity. EA lost many customers with this move, they should give up the source code so we can play the only baseball game that matters, that being MLB baseball. You have diversity, the best talent from around the world (not just the states like in the NCAA), you have trades, signings, GM duties, etc. What do you have in college - recruitments and well... that is it... that is the offseason... recruitment... do you really want to trade in GM duties for recruitment? I"M so pissed you cant imagine, maybe only topped when a model i was going out with me dumped me. I dont care what anobody says but a hot girl is the best medicine you could ever have. I guess i'm just ranting hoping that I will wake up and realize this is all a nightmare and that there will only be 4 more months till MVP baseball 2006 comes out..but i keep pinching myself and i dont wake up...what to do! what to do! jogar84
First of all, the MVP Mod community is the BEST modding community for ANY SPORTS GAME available right now. No offense to anyone, but the mods at NHL or NBA LIVE wont even compare to the massive archive of quality work available here on MVPMODS.
jim416
and i say death to ea for starting all this crap. Yep, sure backfired. I think this college baseball thing is a loser.
Pirate
I again ask why does everyone want a new PC game, Madden has been a $39.99 roster update for 4 years. MVP MLB 06 would have had very few upgrades to this game.
StillFunkyB
When 3DO went belly-up I knew this day was coming. I was sure that there would soon be a baseball season that saw ZERO PC baseball games released. I honestly thought it would have been sooner. I first blame M$ for buying the rights to HH, and then not doing anything with it. Then EA took it one step further when they secured the exclusive NFL rights, thus forcing other companies to lock up the other sports. While I think the NCAA baseball thing isn't such a bad idea, I hope it fails. It would be nice if EA realized they messed up. That's not going to happen, I know. At least we have this great community here that will allow us to keep playing MVP 2005 until somebody steps up to the plate for us PC users again.
