Owner Mode Crash Fixed

After reading responses in this forum and getting little useful help from EA Support, I deleted all MVP 2005 files (including saved files and rosters) uninstalled the game, and then did a fresh reinstall. I have not loaded any patches, or roster updates from EA ( I had downloaded everything through update #4 originally), nor do I have any mods loaded. The game works fine now without any crashes. My question is: what am I missing without the patches (besides headaches and crashes)?

I believe patch 2 fixed gameplay issues and all the patches after that were only roster updates.

Let me ask you this, do you suffer from a stuttering ball (multiple balls) on throws made across the diamond? In closeup plays does your basrunner look like he is running with doubles of himself?

If so, then you need the patch to get rid of this issue.

However if you install the patch you lose what I consider 3 really cool things if you play IP to IP games online.

1) You lose the ability to play in any mode other than pro. You were able to play before the patch via kind of a trick, in any mode you wanted. You would need to start a dynasty & save it & then you can use that setting in any online game too. So if you set up a season for instance in MVP mode, you could also play IP to IP in MVP mode.

2) You lose tha ability once you install the patch to have manual pickoffs in online mode.

3) After applying the patch your slider settings need to be done over & over every time you play another game online. (if you used the saved dynasty mode trick I mentioned above, it also remembered your settings)

Thanks for the feedback. At this point in gameplay, I am only noticing occaisonal stuttering in gameplay, and I think that is from virus scan on in the background, because it was the same way when I had all patches loaded previously. At this point, I do not intend to get into any IP gameplay due to how much free time I have and lack of great abililty.
