bpstein
Today's NY Daily News has an amusing story on Damon--they interviewed his parents. Here's an excerpt about his hair and beard: "I didn't really like it," Damon's mother, Yome, said. "The long hair, I was okay with it. The beard, I can be happy that he won't have it anymore." Jimmy Damon [his father] added that Steinbrenner's rules "are great. As a former Army man, I think it's terrific. When we would come watch (the Red Sox against the Devil Rays) in St. Petersburg, I'd always want to sneak into Johnny's hotel room and cut his hair and beard myself." UncleMo
open initstaz.big inside is initstay.big extract initstay.big and decompress it now inside initstay.big is johndamonhair.fsh initstay.bigmodelstexturesjohndamonhair.fsh Interesting that you know this kraw. Do you know how to assign his hair to some other face? I ask you this because I want to assign "gagne glasses" to other faces. I've been wanting to do this for months now. krawhitham
I think is is hard coded in the EXE to the ID # (johnny is 08fda3cb6) BUT I'm not sure. it would be easy to check, manually edit a roster and change Johnny's ID # and see if the hair is still there it is most likey tied to the player the same way unlocking players with MVP points are. Any one figure out how to change which player you can unlock?
NYYKing
However, for the extra $12 million offered, I would do the same. agreed. It was really more about the Yankees pursuing Johnny harder than the Red Sox. The Sox front-office really dropped the ball here. They didn't have to exactly match the Yankee offer to get Damon back, but they weren't even close. The Yankees were aggressive while the Red Sox were probably so overconfident that they didn't need to pay premium to lure Johnny back. If the Red Sox made lets say a 46~50 million offer, things may have been different. 12 million dollars is ALOT of money you know.
Sean O
God, people aren't getting the point here, are they. The Red sox offered 4/40, aka 10m a year, because they think Johnny is worth $8m a year. The 4/40 was the absolute upper limit of what they were willing to spend on his limited skillset, and so they were never going to change from that. Every single sign points to this situation, and even if the GM's were surprised at the situation (they might have upped the offer to screw the yankees into 5 years, or $60m), they didn't seem dismayed by it. Cashman really should've looked at Damon's stats. He better learn how to completely change his hitting, quick.

Not too long ago Damon was a superstar to sox fans, and now hes "not even worth it". Want to know why Ortiz and Ramirez produce so much? Look at Damon, hes a great leadoff hitter and if you think otherwise, your just blinded by the pain of losing Damon. Damon, Jeter, Arod, Giambi, Sheffield, Matsui, Williams, Posada, Cano will be a force... The sox fans need to start worrying about addressing the needs: 1B, SS, CF and a leadoff hitter...
