Is My PC Screen Big Enough for MVP?

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 600m with 1gig of memory...

The screen is a 14.1...

Is this big enough to support solid gameplay?

I'm wondering if I'll be able to see everything...

I'm new to this site and baseball gaming in general...

I've spent a lot of time (4-5 years) with Madden and 2k Basketball on the PS2...

If it's not the right size, what are my options?

Thanks to all...

Thanks guys...

I'm not sure what resoultion this thing has...

I'll look into that...

Can I just plug the pc into my TV somehow and use that as the monitor screen?

Also...

What kind of contoller does one use for pc sports gaming?

Is there a PS2-style controller or a pc/PS2 adaptor out there?

Sorry for the 'newb-ness' of all this...

But I'm not very computer savvy and am a complete novice where non-console gaming is concerned...

I just think that from what I've read, MVP 2005 is the baseball game to have and that the pc version will keep the game fresh for seasons to come, due to the relative ease regarding roster updates etc...

Thanks so much for the help...

You screen should be fine, it will just matter what type of graphics card you have in your laptop.

I looked up you system specs:

# Pentium M 725 1.60GHz Processor, 2MB L2-Cache

# ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 AGP 4X video graphics at 32MB

# 14.1-in SXGA Monitor

# 60GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive, 4200RPM

# 512MB, 266MHz RAM

It should be ok... No the greatest, but enough to run the game.

There might be a way to plug it into your tv--but it won't be very easy nor will the quality be very good. You can hook it up to a larger computer monitor.

Take a look at a controller similar to this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16826127204

It has the PS/2 style to it and it is the controller recommended by EA (especially for games like Madden). And yes there is an adaptor for a PS2 controller to use on a PC...just Google it I guess.

Hope that helps...

Yes, there are a few PS2 to PC converters - I believe one of the popular stores has one that's quite popular - Wal-Mart, maybe. There are plenty out, though. I use one and it's perfect.

Thanks so much!!!

This helps big-time!!!

I have the 1 gig memory upgrade...not sure of that will make much of a difference...

Do you have any suggestions for relatively cheap and easy modifications or upgrades to my laptop that will enhanse the look and gameplay?

Way cool...

Thanks again...

Looks like I may need an upgrade to my graphics card, a controller adaptor and perhaps a larger monitor...
