Minor league stadiums

Despite the fact that there are a lot of great stadium mods out there, most of them are major league parks or classic parks. I'm disappointed that after a full season with MVP, there haven't been many attempts at minor league stadiums. We have my Waterfront Park (AA), olyrunners Cheney Stadium (AAA), Sean O's Hadlock Field (AA) and that's really about it. There are a total of 9 minor league stadium slots, 3 at each level, and only 3 have been filled with 1 in AAA and 2 in AA.

I'm sure that here are others out there who know some stadiums that could be made for MVP '05, and given that this will be the last major league edition of MVP for a while, it would be nice to have a set of good minor league stadiums to play in for all levels from AAA to A. There are a few really nice minor league parks that would look great in MVP and would be a joy to play in.

Surely those who play full dynasties don't like going from great looking stadiums full of accurate and colourful advertisements to a bland, dark stadiums with blurred and low quality fake advertisements, as well as boring backdrops and scenery?

Anyone else feel the need for some more minor league stadiums, or is it just me? :?

Yes and no.

Yes=I sorta in the back of my mind am thinking of moving from playing my MLB dynasty to moving down to playing my minor league games using DOWN ON THE FARM faces so I can develope guys and shuffle them up to the bigs. If my vid. card can handle stadiums, that'd be a plus.

No=Currently I am only playing MLB so I would not care to have them for my game.

So my response is yes and no for now.

MarkB you are sooo right. I play all games MLB-A and would love a full set of minor league parks. Your AA Stadium is one of the best out their. It would be a great addition to the mods.

I hope to add some updated screenshots of my version of Hadlock Field from 2002 today. I think right now only wall.dat and a few minor (no pun intended!) tweaks need to be done before it can be released as a beta.

I think the main thing is that of people capable of modding parks, classics offer a far more interesting alternative than the modern minor league parks. Plus, to be frank, so many minor league stadiums are virtual clones, with only a handful of parks really breaking out of the mold.

Personally, I think it would be interesting to make some interesting fantasy parks for the minors. I could easily whip up a dozen designs that I would love, however obviously the limiting factor is oedit knowledge.

Now that all the mvp 05 MLB parks are done, people can turn their attention to minors and classics.

Not to take this off topic, but why do you guys play minor league games and how do you decide which level to play.

In my case, it's because the Sea Dogs are my local team, and I was a fan of them since the beginning until they switched affiliations after the '02 season. I re-affiliated them with the Marlins, and play almost every one of their games. Even though it's not the same players, with my version of Hadlock and the original uniforms, the atmsosphere is recreated very well.

Naturally the step after completing all Major League Stadiums would be to venture in to Minor League Stadium Modding. While I did not see this thread when it was more tmely, I infact have something up my sleeve...

Kespan Park, where the Brooklyn Cyclones play, is unique. That should be a good modded minor league stadium. Maybe we can also get Port St Lucie out of their to and put in all Cyclones. I would enoy that mod.

That's one minor league park crying out to be made

The spring traing stadium 2 in mvp 05 is based on Keyspan Park but in a rural forest setting - it already has the rollercoaster and the neon surrounds on the lights so it should be relatively easy to create compared to something like the New Busch or Classic Yankee

Out off al the minor league stadiums I have been too (Richmond County Park- Yanks, Keyspan Park- Cyclones, and Oneonta Stadium (which sucked- tigers) Keyspan is one of the nicest parks I have been too. SI Yankee Stadium is also a nice one with the backdrop of NYC behind the center field wall. It would be great if someone did Keyspan!

Once I get my Victory Field mod completed I will give Keyspan a look. I figure there has to be quite a few photos of it and some want of it on the site. It could be fun.

I've given some thought to updating one of the stadiums to that of the Asheville Tourists' McCormick Field, recently remodeled but pretty old looking still, which once hosted Negro League games and had it's first home run at the hands of Ty Cobb. It's also the place where Crash Davis goes at the end of Field of Dreams to finish his career.

And though I've never been there, while checking out the Astros' farm system, I've always liked the look of Whattaburger Field, home of the Corpus Christi Hooks.

Are there tutorials for stadium modding out there?

I have one that I am in the process of updating. A minor league stadium is the easiest to play with. I'll finish up the tutorial this week, but in the meantime I have one that is in the MVP 2004 section of the downloads.
