Hmm, and "someone" has put the Total Portraits back again under my name.....

The childish saga continues....

Hory, please, I'm very tired today.

First don't use this thread again as your personal complaining area. This is the forum and site issue thread and the many thousands of people that come to this site don't care about what the heck is bugging you or care about me for that matter.

Second of all, you don't have the right to request anything right now. Put your request in writing, send it to yankee4life@mvpmods.com

My avatar not working is in fact a 'site issue' since I have received no message from you saying "Your avatar is disabled because you are very naughty and bad" or whatever.

You know full well what my "request" is, re-enable the stupid avatar and stop power-tripping.

I'm sorry Hory, request denyed. If I had assurances from you that you will not insult Mark and I anymore and that you are not purposely trying to start fights, I will be happy to give you back your avatar. It's just a couple of clicks of the mouse. I am really tired of fighting you like this and if you are enjoying this, then something really must be wrong with you.

What does insulting Mark or you have to do with my avatar?

You recently referred to me as "the biggest jerk this site has ever seen" and I don't recall you losing your avatar.

If your real reasoning behind this petty behaviour is force a positive change in attitude from me towards yourself or Mark, you are somewhat misguided.

This matter is closed. The only positive change we want from you is to treat us with respect on this website and stop being intentionally confrontational with us. That is what I would consider to be a positive change and that's all I can ask from you.

I will only treat you and your cohort with respect if I am treated with respect.

This matter is far from closed.

You treat us with respect? Each time one of us has to do our jobs out here I wait for you to come in and jump all over us. Like the latest one with that Spanish kid who made three rapid fire threads in a row on the same subject. I banned him just for a little bit and you had to come in and take up on his behalf. I banned him only for an hour and only to stop him from making those threads. Think about it man, did you really have to involve yourself in that? You didn't. There is nothing I like more than coming in this place after a day's work and just relaxing and enjoying this place. And it it means avoiding another sparring session with you, that's what I want to happen. I like it quiet around here, so do the others.

Well if you want to go into that specific incident, then ok, you banned him, fine, a little harsh, whatever, but what actually irked me is that you posted the self-congratulatory "Goodbye" jpgs as though banning that poor guy was something to be proud of. To me, you were behaving like a bully.

Ok, there, you explained yourself. I understand your point of view better now.

Now let me explain those jpg's to you. The reason why I did them was because I had a lot of time that evening, so I posted them. And one of them, that guy getting kicked down the stairs is funny as hell. I posted it for that reason. Heck, what he did wasn't so bad, it's just that he was flooding the site and that was the only way to stop it.

Hory, tell you what, instead of you assuming I was trying to be a bully, why don't you ask me the next time a similar situation comes up and I'll try to explain myself to you?

I'm having a similar problem, but I'm not sure it's the same.

I'm using IE - and it seems sort of random, but sometimes I will have to re-log in to do things, and sometimes I won't.

Mainly it happens on the forums - many times I will try to edit a post I just made, but after I go to save the changes it tells me I can only edit my own posts, and then I have to re-log-in to make the changes. I never seem to randomly "log out" other times - for instance, I can always post-post-post, download, whatever, but when I go to edit my post - more often than not, I seem to need to log in again.

This problem started about 2 weeks ago, maybe.

Any help?

Arrg. Everyone in here is so busy arguing, actual SITE ISSUES are being ignored. lol.

I'm not sure if my ISP changed something or not, because I made no changes to my equipment at home, but from both of my PC's, I now have the issue described above.

So - is this some kind of f'ed up and randomly occuring problem on my end, or is there something that you guys know of that I could at least check.

But I reiterate - I've been on this site well over a year and this problem only became apparent in the past 2 to 3 weeks.

Sorry about that Raptor. As you can see, some people don't like to use things for their intended purpose, and that's how we end up with actual problems, like yours, on inactive pages.

I can't say I have a solid idea of what's causing that, but have you tried clearing your cache and cookies and seeing if the problem still occurs after you log in again?

That would be the only thing I could think of. Please let us know if that fixes your problem.

I am having trouble occasionally with very slow loading on the site. At the moment, it is running fine, but about ten minutes ago it was loading very slowly, and it occurs on and off for me fairly often. I haven't been loading any large amounts of data or downloading anything, just browsing. I recently updated my internet, but I think that is unrelated as it is the same internet service as before, just higher bandwidth, and all other sites seem to run normally. The difference is basically normally it takes two-three seconds to load a page, when the site slows down it can take twenty seconds often, and occasionally it takes so long that Firefox just says that the server could not be connected to.

I would imagine it is something on your side of the server, but I will continue to test unless performance improves.

With some more analization, I have decided that it does not seem to occur in what might be categorized as "peak hours"; It does seem to have a tendency to occur when there are more users then when there are less users, but there is no strict correlation. Any ideas?

It's directly related to the amount of users on at any one time. The more users and most importantly, users searching the forums, the higher the server load is going to be.

The donations cover the cost of running the site.

Yeah. A good host can be expensive, and this is a big site. We can't pay to have the numbers of computers say, Google, has, so we just have to live with what we have. These servers are good enough anyways. Sure, they aren't perfect, but then again, what is?

from my understanding, the 150 doesnt even cover the complete monthly cost. I'm pretty sure trues is still paying quite a bit out of pocket...
