That's what happens when a) a big mod like 07 is released, B) the baseball season has started and people are looking for rosters, and c) there is a plethora of other mods to download.

Trues, this isn't really a site issue, but more of a suggestion.

Since cyberface requests are made all over the place, do you think it would be possible to put a page somewhere where all those requests could be centralized, and cyberface modders could pick and choose which faces to work on? It would also be helpful if it could keep track of which faces have been taken for creation by modders.

(This was a suggestion that homer813 told me about)

Thanks.

it would be a lot of work, but i was just looking through the projects section and thought something like that for cyberfaces would be good. this way, all one has to do is go there and look at a list in alphabetical order of requested faces, and also has a column next to it to indicate if it's been made. of course another column could indicate who(m) has done it. it would technically be an ongoing project of course, since we should never be able to finish it...or would we? :)

either way, this would help me out greatly too with the classic faces. currently, a couple of threads have attempted to compile lists of sort, but they can only be edited by the writer. if we had something like the setup in the projects section, we could make requests and also check it off when it's made.

Ok, i just made this in excel to kind of show what i had in mind. if we are able to do this, i think it would really help out. but this is only if we could get all the modders to participate.

if we had a project section for it with some flexibility, it would be great. to start, it would be blank. there would be a link for someone to click on to make a request, say Edgar Martinez. then that would be up there, if say somone realized he's in the original game, they can select a link to notify it's in the game and fill in the appropriate info. then say i came along and made a face, i could go in and add it to the list to show i updated it.

if we could have the ability to alphabetize, jump to certain parts of he alphabet, sort by name or date of request or completion, and of course search for a name, it would really help.

and then with all the past faces made with inactive members, someone could just post it to their credit as needed also.

anyhow, just an idea that maybe we could make work.

My idea for this would be a site module where users could go in and type in their requests. Maybe under the Projects tab, and it would be separated (faces, portraits, stadiums, uniforms), and you could have 1 or 2 people for each category that could edit/remove/check completed requests.

yeah, that's where i'd hope this would go. i was just being greedy cuz i'd really like it for cybers first to see if this idea could fly :)

Very nice idea. The projects module as it is now is pretty limited unfortunately. Hopefully we can figure something out.

We can always just write some MySQL/PHP to create a database for it, couldn't we?

oh yeah, i get that too. i get hundreds of emails a day about threads, eventhough all i wanna be notified about are pm's and replies in my threads, or watched threads.

not too big of a deal, but i also get it.

Is that within your skill set comp?

Well, I did some PHP/MySQL a few years ago, but I'm not that good with databases. I bet we can find some script out there that can do this for us. Would anybody be able to modify the list, or only a specific few?

so are you the only one who is able to update the progress? if so, that's gonna suck to keep up with all of that.

a search function would be good too.

and nice comment on the overlay!

No, there are different account levels.

looks good so far. is this the test phase, or should we just start using it?

I can create an admin account for you so you can check it out fully. I'll send you a PM.

Feel free to start using it, we can always tweak it as we go.

wow. i like it. now how much freedom do we have with this? are we able to change it so it tells you who leaves each comment?

and also can we make so that the person who submits that it's been done can also edit the progress on it? if not, then we have to make it a rule that whoever makes the request has to keep the progress updated.

This is new to me as well so we'll just have to learn as we go. :)

I think we can make this work though. I'll check it out more when I get some free time.

Thanks
