Spivey11
"Baseball is about as exciting as standing in line at the supermarket. Baseball doesn't test anything but your ability to withstand boredom." - Paul Tagliabue (NFL Comish) on baseball in this week's Sports Illustrated. Now, I have to say that I'd rather watch pro baseball instead of pro football any day of the year... tebjr
Your not the only one. Not just pro ball. Any baseball to me is better than football. Just my opinion.

Credit of this find goes to GMF over at TPG.net I'd have to disagree with you there, Spivey. Now, I definitely don't feel like Tagliabue, I love to watch baseball, but football is definitely better. Football is probably the most exciting of all sports to watch or play, for that matter (except possibly basketball).
seanzarelli
I personally would rather watch hockey more than any other sport, especially in a fast paced, hard hitting game. But I would rather watch baseball more than football...Or else I wouldn't still have my MLB TV account still activated...Nothing beats going back and watching great games and saving all of them. ixcuincle
football college basketball baseball national basketball association NHL college football NASCAR tennis soccer For some reason baseball isn't "the national pasttime" like it used to be. I was on another forum comparing someone who was growing his beard out to "Johnny Damon Jr" and other people were like "who is johnny damon?". In fact , one person said "Don't compare so and so to complete strangers no one knows". I'm concerned about the lack of popularity of baseball...you'll see a lot of people love football but not as much fervor about baseball because many people claim "baseball is boring" and other ignorant lies. :(
SwinginSoriano
Football is #2 on my list, but I really don't give a crap about football. I actully schedule my day depending when baseball games are on. (Yanks, some ESPN televised games.) There are just so many more variables and strategies in baseball. Ten times more games, way less steroids... Did I mention that you have to earn it to get to the postseason? (With the exception of the Padres and the Rockies 10 years ago.) Baseball is the perfect distraction.
MaddiesDaddy
Now, I have to say that I'd rather watch pro baseball instead of pro football any day of the year... Credit of this find goes to GMF over at TPG.net It's sad that a guy who runs the most sucessful sports league in the country needs to be so childish in his sentiments on baseball. Sounds like to me that old Pauly boy was always playing "pick a daisy" in right field and was never picked for the All-star squad as a little leaguer... and like most people like him he became good at reading stat books and throwing out numbers. I don't question his great sucesses in running the NFL he is obviously a very good businessman...but you know there is a hurt little boy inside if what is meant to be a prominent businessman resorts to what is basically the adult way of saying, "mine is better than yours, ha ha ha ha ha" I love both sports, watching and playing, but when push comes to shove...baseball will and always will be my number one. cb
1. Basketball, especially in a close game. 2. Baseball 3. Hockey, since there are more goals this year, it's more exciting. 4. football, still a great game to watch, especially on those last minute game-winning drives. FBPro
I actually used to like baseball more, but IMO until baseball gets control of the have's and have not's issue(rich get richer and others are screwed) situation then baseball will only continue to drop in my eyes and in the eyes of many as far as interest goes. Yes, there will always be diehards and I am a huge baseball fan but they could learn some lessons from the NFL - IMO. Though neither is perfect. Homer
i think he is kinda right. you have to be a baseball enthusiast to enjoy all the games. most of them can be boring for the average folks. baseball is my favorite sport, period. it's not always about the excitement of the game. if that's all you're in it for, take up extreme sports and russian roulette. ...but as far as excitement goes...nothing tops college basketball and football. the nfl sucks. and i think that's what he should be discussing, not comparing apples to oranges. Timp
"Baseball is about as exciting as standing in line at the supermarket. Baseball doesn't test anything but your ability to withstand boredom." - Paul Tagliabue (NFL Comish) on baseball in this week's Sports Illustrated. People who don't know much about baseball say things like this. I see this when the people at my school say (in their very biased opinion) that they hate baseball because it's so boring, but they don't even know anything about it. The LACK of some sort of salary "guidelines"(minimum and maximum that can be spent would be good) are what has thrown baseball in the tank. That pro football has one has made every season and team more interesting.
