Jittery ball movement?

I just reinstalled the game after the football layover (Go Bengals.), and suddenly I'm noticing that when the ball is in play and is thrown, it takes a very jittery and studdery flight path. When the ball is pitched or hit, everything seems to be ok, but when the fielders pick it up and toss it around, it looks very bad. Though I'm not positive, I just don't remember having this problem the last time I played the game, and I've got a relatively high-end PC (Athlon 64 3400+, GeForce 6600GT, etc.)

Any suggestions? Many thanks, and tremendous site!

One of the things that has helped this is to crank up the level of AA and AF on your video card to max settings. (Find those settings on your video card control panel).

In most games 'jittery-ness' results from playing the game on an inadequate computer. In this case (blame EA) fast computers seem to be worse than slower ones. Cranking up the AA and AF will force the computer (and video card) to work harder and slow them down a bit resulting in smoother gameplay.

I really don't think so. I ctrl-alt-del just about everything running before I start the game. It's just weird, particularly since I never had the problem before. Oh well. I'll tweak the video settings. I swear this graphix card is slowing down...

did you install patch 3 or higher? I think that fixed some kind of jerking problem

Plus do you have a ball mod installed, the ball in most ball mods here are like 800% larger than normal? If you are low in memory or cpu power that might make it jerk

Actually, no - I haven't patched at all. I have all those sweet extra rosters and stuff like that and am concerned the patch will mess all of that up. I think I'll try the patch regardless - I can always reinstall all the faces and rosters and stuff.

Thanks!
