shakesbit
Hey guys. New to this, so bear with me. I downloaded the gfxpak program from this site so I can try and export the .dat files out of the portrait.big file into MVPedit so I can try to change-out a portrait with one I made. When I try and open the program on my PC, it opens for like a second then closes. What does this mean? I've tried opening it with a more compatable OS like Win 98 and Win 95 and while it stays open for a few more seconds, it closes again. What is the problem? Perhaps its a PC thing, but I'm a Mac guy. Thanks.
MarkB
GFXPak is a command line program and is generally only called from batch files or other programs.
shakesbit
Thanks Mark. Makes sense. I've read that gfxpak is the program used to export .dats out of a .big file. So how do I get MVPedit to read this portrait.big file so I can see/edit the pics?
Jim825
Thanks Mark. Makes sense. I've read that gfxpak is the program used to export .dats out of a .big file. So how do I get MVPedit to read this portrait.big file so I can see/edit the pics? In MVPEdit, click on Tools->Options from the top menubar and make sure that you specify where your MVP Baseball Data directory is. MVPEdit expects that the portrait.big file will be in the data / frontend directory. It doesn't matter where the data directory is, as long as it has a frontend subdirectory and the portrait.big file is in there. You then select the data directory in the Options popup window and the portraits will appear for you. Just make sure that when you select the data directory that you double click on it so that the folder appears open.
