rolliefingers08
Yes, I do know there is a thread for this already, it's about 20 pages long and impossible to find what you're looking for in it. I tried using the utility recommended in that thread, and I'm not sure I ever did it right, because nobody really posted perfectly clear instructions, especially with all the changes that came along and the person who seemed to know it best didn't use english as a first language. I'm using a RADEON 9550 video card. So I know that once I get this thing figured out, it should work. Originally it was for GeForce users but then someone figured out that 3d-analyze would work for ATI users as well, but it was never really explained very well. So can someone explain in clear instructions, how to use 3d-analyze properly to get player detail to high with my radeon card? So far all I've understood clearly from the 500 different instructions is - 1. Use 3d-analyze v2.0, found here. 2. ??? Whoever can help me with this will... have the knowledge that I am head over heels in love with MVP once again. PS I'm using the updated beta 06 version if that matters at all. Thanks a lot in advance to whoever answers this prayer.

mrmariner
Thats weird because I'm running a gforce 4ti 4200 64mb with my computer upstairs with no problems and never had to make any kind of tweaks. I have a ATI 9700 pro 128mb on the one in the basement which is my real gaming machine and never had a problem playing the game. My geforce 4ti 4200 is a old card. eber
The Ti-4200 beats the 9550 though. Seriously, though, if you're worried about this problem so much, save up and get a new video card. You can get the Ti-4200 or even Ti-4600 for $20-$40 on eBay. I've even seen deals (at Fry's or outpost.com) for after rebate of a FX5200 (maybe 5500) for $19.99. A quick check on eBay show the 4200 going for a little over $20 total shipped with 3hrs left to bid.
rolliefingers08
Uh yeah, this doesnt help me at all. I just bought this new video card and it's amazing with everything except for MVP.
eber
Aye...not the best choices of cards then. The 4200 is an old card but pretty much still outperforms the 9550. Well, good luck on finding the solution...my solution was probably the best you were going to get in solving this as your thread will most likely be unanswered like the others have been . djjoe
So if you are stuck on low player detail, the only solution is to get a new video card?

I dont think the problem is his video card. I have a readon 9000 and I have no problem with player details. It must be something in the settings, maybe ingame or in the video card . rolliefingers08
Should I try reinstalling the game? Because when I installed it and used it for months, it was on an older, crappier video card. I got this one about 2 months ago, and the graphics are smoother and such, but the player detail is still horrible.

skte1ement
I am encountering the same problem. I can change ever detail except for player detail. It is on low and grayed out, it will not let me alter it. The strange thing is, is that my rig should definantly be able to power high player detail. I have an amd 3.0 processor with 1 gig of RAM and a radeon 9700 pro graphics card. Any suggestions? I do not think i need a new graphics card. eber
I guess you guys could try installing new drivers for your cards--usually never hurts.
skte1ement
yea i tried to update a while ago because i could not play counter strike with out this annoying glitch where black flashing boxes appear in the sky. it said i needed to update my driver, but when i tried to update i got some screwy error message. i am thinking it might have something to do with the fact that i am using a laptop and my graphics card is the mobile version of the radeon 9700 pro, not sure though. rolliefingers08
i have all the new drivers. if anyone actually read my entire original post, i was asking for a full explanation on how to use the 3d analyze program for those of us with ati cards, because many people were able to fix it that way. kicko
download 3d analyze open app and (on the left side of the app) select mvp.exe click run you can also make a shortcut on the right side is an option when in the mvp options you should be able to select high player detail **also you need to turn off helmet reflections, or you will have players you can see through(ghosts) and if the game plays a demo game it wil show them as ghosts but not during you actual game. eber
Still sitting around, hoping huh? The original thread by alpium isn't that hard to understand. I'm really curious if you've read through it all. It's not 20 pages like you've exaggerated, only 13, and most aren't even very long messages. I've read through a lot of it and there's some pretty sound, clear advice in there by RAM helping people with similar cards to yours. Then again, you could sell your 9550 and get in on the nice Ti-4200 deal I've posted. My advice: - Read the entire thread by alpium (if you haven't already) and try everything suggested. - If none of that advice in the thread works, play around with the settings in 3D analyze yourself and try and figure out your own solution. If you want something done and no one offers much help, you're probably going to have to do it yourself. - You could be stuck with it according to your system (not all systems and (especially) video cards are equal--i.e., a 9550 128-bit is vastly different than a 9550 64-bit version). Good luck with it...

bsmit251
I had a problem with the player detail on low, until I powered up my notebook with the ac adapter pluged in and it worked. I had all the options on high. Atleast on my computer there must have been a problem with drivers or something not loading when I powered up with the battery only. spitoon
Something is definitely not right with your set up. You should be able to play on a higher setting with that card. Like mrmariner, I have a Ti4200 and play on high settings. Granted the 9550 is slightly behind the Ti4200, but still you should be able to adjust the settings. From what I understand, 3D Analyze is intended for use with 'integrated video', not stand alone cards. When you installed the new card, did you uninstall the old drivers and reinstall new drivers? You don't need the newest ATI drivers, but get something from the last year or so. Certainly DON'T let Windows install it's own drivers. My suggestion would be as follows: Uninstall the driver from the control panel. Re-boot, and "Cancel" when windows asks to install a new driver. Run an app like "Driver Cleaner". Reboot. Install a fresh copy of the ATI driver. Aside from downloading a newer one, there should be one on the CD that came with the card, that will do.
