brtalley Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 hey guys...my game is still playing choppy. it's so frustrating! it's a little better now and i can actually play through a full game without getting mad enough to quit (though its only happend twice). how much does resolution effect it? i've been trying to play it at the top two, because it looks so much better...but even when i lower it to 600x800 it's still choppy. even with all of the features turned off. i know my computer and graphics card are more than powerful enough...but there's still issues. i downloaded defxt (which defrags the RAM often) and spy and adware...so it's not those. i've tried the v-sync on and off and there's always some sort of chopiness. isnt it supposed to play just like a console game? any more suggestions of what to do? brtalley Posted February 14, 2006 Author Share Posted February 14, 2006 thanks for the response hoop...but i have patch 3. i've been doing everything and this game just wont work how it should! its driving me nuts. i've even gone into the settings and put every setting on my video card to high performance instead of quality. i play at 800x600 and it stutters, not matter what i do...it stutters. not always, but its there. and if it doesnt stutter...it speeds up. and vsync on or off doesnt matter...it's just as frustrating as i could ever have imagined. nothing seems to work. VaSoxFan38 Posted February 14, 2006 Share Posted February 14, 2006 try patch 5 talley...that should, at least in theory, work. If it doesn't, I would suggest upgrading your video card. Alot of times, thats the main source of the problem (I had the same issue with Fifa 2005, but all my other games worked fine...so i didnt upgrade) Hope that helps! brtalley Posted February 15, 2006 Author Share Posted February 15, 2006 hey guys...i'll get patch 5...but people say that 3 and 5 are the same...5 just has new rosters. my video card is a radeon x300 (and its integrated on my laptop). unclemo has one or one similar and has no issues. i've messed with every setting it has and made it all performance no quality and it still stutters. as far as a video driver...where do i get them. i've gone to ati a few times and i download things i think are the driver, but they arent. i've defraged my HD 4 times in the past few weeks and i even downloaded a program that defrags my RAM. Kraw, what do you mean by play with detail levels? i really appreciate everyones help, i know you probably get annoyed by people like me...but i love this game and it's amazing on here and i just want it to play as smooth as it should. thanks again. klon122 Posted February 16, 2006 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Oh, you again. For laptop drivers, view the Omega Drivers site. I believe ATI doesn't allow their official drivers to be installed on laptops, or so I've read. It's either Omega's (who is a tester for ATI) or your laptop manufacturer; whichever has more up-to-date drivers. "Play with detail levels" means going to Video options and adjusting graphics settings; some of the settings may be too high for your comp.
