Requiem
Is there an option which I'm overlooking or a mod out there that will not create the free agents the first year you start a dynasty or owner mode? It's a problem because it makes the dynasty mode SUPER easy as you just trade away or cut all the chaff hitters on your team and stockpile these "super free agents" to use or trade away for other talent (usually pitching) at will. It also makes it stupid NOT to do that as other teams will take advantage of it and in 5-7 years you'll have them running around the league, anyways, dominating every category. So, you'll have to make use of them, eventually. I'd just like it if the CPU would not create them for the first year (for some reason, it doesn't create them after the first year, at least not the 5-star variety). Any help? DarkEnigma510
You have to mod the resign.csv file. However, if you mod it, you'd have to re-mod it again after your first dynasty year so that you could get free agents again

Maybe I'm utterly hopeless, but how would changing resign.csv affect FA creation that first year since nobody's resigning these players (rookie 5-star and 4-star potential players)? Plus what values would I change to have no FAs? Thanks, Req

You could set all avlues to 100% if you wanted. However, I think you will still end up with free agents since teams would have to cut players to make room in their organizations for the rookies they just drafted. Just to make sure we're on the same page. Doesn't resign.csv affect the resigning rates of players? If this is so, how would this file affect the FA who are CREATED (i.e., not released from teams) the first year of dynasty and owner modes? These players are not being released from any team, per se, but are just flat out created the first year. These FAs are created even if I fill up all the 255 slots on the FA "team." Overkill
I just go and edit those players within the Dynasty/Owner/Season editor down to about 1-star players born in the early 1960s with horrible ratings. It's fairly time-consuming, but avoids the problem of superstars being easily available. I usually only do a few of the top ones at first though, and as some of the others are signed by other teams, if they are 3 stars or over I just make them 1-star players born in the 1960s as well. It seems to work well. Although this is not exactly the ideal solution to the problem, it at least makes things a little better.
