NYM
I'll just post it here, later this evening. Trust me, if anyone tries to copy what i'm doing, it'll be blatantly obvious. This ain't no retro-cookie cutter park. Same with mine! I thought the apartment building was original, but what I have now is insanely cool! It will reinvent the way people look at left field! I would post my updates, but I'm putting it on paper. I have left field on one paper, left center on another, center, etc. so it would be useless to post what I have. Sean O
Well, here we go folks, my first screenshot: This is extraordinarily early, since I'm still working out the piece de resistance, but there you have it. It may be somewhat difficult to see, but the upper deck actually curves from 50' in height behind the plate, to about 25' at the tips. The ground is also very early, but at the bottom of the screen you can see water. And across from that water is.. something fantastic. Stay tuned. NYM
Hmm, what can that be! I know, but I wont tell! What program did you use to make that? I would like to know so maybe I can make a 3D model.
DJEagles
I am hand drawing mine, as I have no experience what-so-ever in using programs. I hope that won't be a problem.
Sean O
Vectorworks, but not really anything you can just pick up on the spot. It took me about a months worth of teaching in a college level class to be able to really do anything, so it's kinda tricky. But, the medium isn't what's important, it's the ideas. DJEagles
Okay, so here is a very rough....ROUGH....blueprint of my new outdoor, open air, BlueJays Stadium on the site of Old Exihibition Park. I am going to draw a full 3D model, but just wanted to get my ideas out there. I have no idea on how to use Photoshop, etc. So I will be handdrawing everything. Thanks. I will be adding the foul area, and the dug-outs in my final draft...
Sean O
Looks hot man, looks like you know exactly what you're going for. I look forward to the end results.

DJEagles
Okay so here is a quick 3D drawing. The Upperbowl is going to be overlapping the Lower bowl, with a see through roof, cover the UperBowl. TheSkyboxes are going to be overlooking homeplate, with the Casino,Restaurant,Hotel in the background. On The left is the Mall, with the deck of seats, with the Jumbotron behind it.The "BlueJays Bridge" stretches from the roof of the mall to the Upperdeck of the park, with standing room being sold on it. I invision the bridge actually hanging over the outfield, of course, being closed in, so there wouldn't be any jumoers...LOL!
DJEagles
They tore down Exhibition Stadium many years ago. Thank you sir....being from the Maritimes, I did not know that. But being a Jays fan...I should have!
NYM
You are a good artist. I'm going to try something 3D tonight. My drawings are cool, but I think you need to see a 3D image to kind of get the picture of my park.
Bama
dj...am i still allowed to use a bridge in mine? I was envisioning a glass bridge to connect some of the upper decks across the outfield in my design.
Sean O
I don't see a problem using a bridge, since many parks in baseball and football have used them in the past. If you decide to copy his dimensions with just slight modifications it's one thing, and that's the sort of thing we're trying to avoid. Bridges aren't a problem. DJEagles
By all means...use the bridge, it was just an idea I decided to add on myself.
NYM
Hmm, I got a bridge in my stadium too. Well not really in the stadium.
friar
OK, I'm gonna do mine for Kansas City. Here's the site it will use: Downtown skyline. Logistics be damned, this is sweet. I need to make some changes to my design, though, as to better showcase the skyline as the focal point. Glad I won't have to oedit this, it would take forever. Would be a fun project for the season, though.
NYM
How's everyone doing on this? I might show some of my progress later.
ChicagoCubs720
Should I post what I've got so far? all I've used is MS Paint and I think it looks pretty darn good. I might use a program called ZModeler to do a 3D version but it can't render, it can only give a darkened 3D view.
Pirate
Thank you sir....being from the Maritimes, I did not know that. But being a Jays fan...I should have! The exact day was: February 1, 1999 That stadium fueled my love for lost parks. I drove past it in 1997 and wished I could live in it. I still wish i could live in Tiger Stadium. I hope it never comes down.
Sean O
Just so everyone knows, I'm considering dropping out of the competition to act as the judge / handler, since I think it's kind of a conflict of interest to have the facilitator, I guess, of the contest as one of the entrants. I figure this will make it better overall and more impartial, and I can hand-pick the other judges to make this the best it can be. I'll still keep working on what I would have submitted, and I'll post these and other projects as we go on. Heck, maybe instead of involving the torture device that is oedit, the grand prize will be a full-3d vectorworks rendering of the park. How does that sound as a great incentive?
