Cutoff positions

Drives me nuts!! Guy at second hard basehit to the outfield. If I throw it to the cutoff man who is usually positioned on the cut of the infield grass, the guy from second scores easily. If I throw home, I sometimes get the guy but if I don't, the runner takes second on the throw.

If my cutoff men were in the proper position (somewhere around the mound depending on where the ball is hit.) There would be none problem..None. Is there anywhere in the data file where one might be about to change the position of the cutoff man?

Thanx

Agree. Probably somewhere in the file, there's the cutoff position. Maybe i should start reading snepp's tutorial.....

its listed in rodata's readme that he fixed it...

so either try one of his and see how it is for you, or maybe ask him which particular line that was

I will probably get in trouble for this, but I think part of the issue here is terminology. The cutoff man and the relay man are two different things. I have yet to see a baseball game that gets this right. Usually, they call the relay man a "cutoff", and don't use the term "relay" at all.

What I would like to see is the option to use both, just like in real baseball. The 1st baseman is usually the cutoff, and he should position himself in the middle of the IF to cut the ball off if necessary. This is the part that doesn't happen in MVP.

There is sometimes a cut-off guy near the mound when you throw home, but for him to catch it you must hit the switch player button, and sometimes he will cut off the throw home.
