Image challenge

OK guys, here's the deal.

I'm working on a new design (and, depending on how things go, maybe an actual domain) for my website, and I need a good image for the top header. It has to be 500x60 and I'm not looking for the special effects look, just a nice, simple and clean blending job containing the images I need.

The items that I'd like the image to contain are as follows;

a black rotary telephone on the far left (For you youngsters, that's the "old-fashioned" phones with the large circle in the middle which was used to dial before the days of touch-tone telephones.)

The following items anywhere in the middle at your discretion but split accordingly so that they are not connected (so that the baseball items aren't side by side for example)

a baseball

a Trenton Thunder logo

a New York Yankees logo

a frontal shot of an old PC (One of the old Atari PC's should be cool - see the first few results on Google for Atari PC)

a frontal shot of a modern day PC (TFT screen etc.)

the crescent moon and star symbol representing Islam (Something such as this for example)

the Tupac Shakur photograph seen here (If you can find a larger version, use that if you wish)

And, finally, on the far right, a modern light grey-, white- or cream-coloured touch-tone telephone.

If you want to PM me to make sure any of the images are all right to use before using them, please do.

The angles, level of blending and/or clouding and use of images...as well as pretty much everything else, really, is up to you, as long as the images are identifiable and, overall, it looks good.

So, what can you produce? :)

I'll give it a shot. I'd work on it now but I have a test to "study" for. :(

That's fine, no rush at all. It's going to take me, at the very least, a few days to get the coding done anyway, and chances are I won't have it done over the weekend anyway.

NYM - Sure. The best image will be used, so it doesn't matter if it's done tomorrow night or in 2 weeks. I'd just like to get a decent image to use as a sort of placeholder until a really good one comes up.

EDIT - Hold off on creating anything for now. I might be able to use a bigger image, somewhere in the range of 750px, or more, wide.

OK, change of plans. The image can be up to, and including, 766px wide and 62px in height, which I'd recommend as it means no fooling around with backgrounds to match the colour etc.

Thanks Dagger, I like the idea. Some of the cropping is a little off, but the theme is good. I'm still working on the design on the page but in the current incarnation, it goes well.

Looking forward to seeing what you can produce, Filthy. :)

Now, that's nice. I like the brick and embossing effects and although it doesn't have all the items, I can see why. A few things - could you made the brick effect encompass the whole image thus removing the black on the right and bottom (black is the colour of the background), and make the brick effect encompass the telephone on the right as well? The image border between the crescent and telephone is quite obvious as well.

Thanks!

Oh, sorry about that Mark. I missed the phone on the left, but I'm gonna leave the Tupac picture on the far left, because it cuts off the other side of his face. If I resize the Yankee logo, I can move some stuff around and fit it in there. I can't edit anything now, however, because I'm at school and I don't have the .psd with me. I'll have to do it when I get home.

Sorry for the late responses, been having some access trouble.

x63, I like that, too. Filthy, did you manage to do that edit?

Thanks guys. :)

Sorry it's taken so long, Mark, I've been a little busy, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you. I tried to change some stuff around, but I may have missed something. Let me know if there's anything else you want me to change...

No problem, Filthy, that looks great. The only thing is the borders on the left and bottom are black, and when used on the black background, it looks as if the image is cut off. If you could make the whole image embossed so that the left and bottom are lighter colours (like the grey at the top), it would work great.

Thanks, man.

Yeah. The thing is, that's the shadow because the light's coming from the top-right corner, but if I change the color of the shadow and stuff, I can fix that. I'll play around with it a bit, and I'll get back to you.
