SatanJones
Here is my issue: I have been playing Dynasty Mode for 15 games now, and the game freezes every third game or so. But recently, the game has been crashing EVERY TIME before the 4th inning in my current game this season. I've tried replaying it 12 times and it happens every time. Can someone help? Here is what I know: 1) I downloaded UR 5.0 Plus, and to fix the problem I downloaded the 5.1 quick fix, which did not help with the problem. 2) I am using a Nvidia Geforce4 Ti 4600, and have downloaded the latest driver for XP (problem still happens with the old and the new drivers). 3) Turned down all settings to lowest possible. 4) Other games with graphics as good or better have run FINE. I don't think its a RAM problem because CPU usage is different than RAM usage, and even though I only have 512 mb of RAM, I do not think it is the problem. My processor is a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz. 5) It crashes randomly! During some sort of animation, whether it be a foul ball grounder, a HR, a wind-up in the delivery. Nothing specific, and nothing constant. It's different each time. Yeah, that's it. So it freezes, the sound goes in a loop, and if I ctrl-alt-del to go to the Task Manager I see the CPU Usage has spiked to 100% and will not come back down until I close the game or reboot. Any ideas AT ALL? Thanks.
jscand
I have similar problems. I figure my PC is due for a major overhaul soon, but I'm not sure that would even fix the problem. I would be interested if anyone else has some ideas.
SatanJones
Jscand, maybe its because we play Dynasty Mode with the Mets and they are cursed! But seriously, I tried simming that game, and then I played the next game with no problems. That is so weird. I'm sure it will crash again, since it does every so often, but maybe the short-term fix is to just sim or skip the games that have repeat-crashes. BTW, the game that kept on crashing was Willis vs. Pedro, which is a shame. Good luck.
mrmariner
If you have the 06 mod installed, read some threads in that section. If not make sure you do not have any uncessary programs running in the background because they can eat up system resources and slow your computer down. your system should be able to handle this game. I have a AMD 1.8 and a Gforce 4 TI4200 and I have had no problems playing this game, except for the night version of halo's protest angels stadium. jscand
For me it seems to happen every time I play the Red Sox (which isn't very often). At first I thought it was Fenway, then I ended up playing them in the World Series with the Mets and the first game at Shea froze. I thought it was a particular cyberface, but it has frozen different times. I am guessing it is a uniform issue with them. Do you notice freezing in any particular stadium? SatanJones
I think its the Marlins' stadium for my computer. Weird, I haven't had a problem for 4 games now (Washington/Atlanta), but I'm sure it will come back in some stadiums as it always does.
skeeve_wiz
Yeah I have totally had an issue with this as well...I have Patch 3,5 loaded and then the Ultimate Roster 5.0 with the 5.1 quick fix loaded...I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop at 2.13 Pentium M, with 1 Gig of memory with a nVidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra 256mb card. I run it at Max resolution and it runs fine for the most part. Slight chop here or there, then it seems after the 2nd season(3rd season and on) in Dynasty mode, whenevever I play its 50/50 that the game will all out crash or freeze up. Only time I have seen a problem is after the third year. I close all other applications before running MVP and disable Nortons AutoProtect. Any ideas? It would be nice to be able to play without having to worry about it crashing... Also I saw a couple of post about fixing the occasional choppyness or delay would be cool too (mine happen on plays at a base, caught balls or strike outs)... thanks Skeeve
SatanJones
One weird thing I have noticed is that only night games crash for me, so far. So I just switch the game to day every time and no problems for 10 straight games.
skeeve_wiz
Last night I un-installed everything...re-installed, loaded just patch 3 and then Ultimate Rosters 5.0 plus and then 5.1 quick fix. Then started my dynasty over. Everything was great, no choppyness or anything. Then I played and simmed and saved, and played and simmed and saved and by the 2nd hour or so it started to get choppy on the parts i mentioned before, strikeouts and stuff like that. It never crashed, but it almost seems the more you play a dynasty the worse things get. I kind of noticed that before too, start of the dynasty great, by the 2nd and 3rd seasons thats when problems came in...
