Owner Mode Problem - Declining Media $

I play in owner mode with the Royals. I slashed payroll down to $28 mil

to make money and was bringing in about 350 mil per home game. However, my team went on the road and my media revenue was readjusted. My 1st road game it decreased to 52 mil, the 2nd road game down to -12 mil, and the 3rd road game it dropped down to -32 mil. How is that possible? How did my team media revenue drop down into the negative range and continues to fall? Any help would be appreciated greatly...

maybe so, but it actually deducted -$32,000 from the media money column on the daily finance screen after my last game. I am wonderng if it is some kind of glich in the game...had anyone else lost money every day from the media sponsership?

I believe the moneyball approach you are doing is hard to do in Ownermode. In real life you do lose money because you don't have star players on your team to help you out in the media realm. If you do this in dynasty mode it would be easier on you.

Maybe use Art Money to keep your team in the black.

I really don't want to have to start my owner mode over, as my team is somewhat competative. If I were to trade for a star player, do you think that this would increase my media $ a little? What star players would people recommend. I could use help in every lineup position except for CF and 3B (these 2 positions I have top 100 prospect players). I'm looking for relatively young players who do not have huge contracts but are still star players and would draw fans and create excitement. I know this may sound unreasonable. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

correct me if im wrong, but the media revenues is directly proportional to your payroll, in other word cut the payroll $$ goes down, increase payroll media $$ increases. so it doesn't really matter if you have a star player or not.

its alll about keeping your fans happy. and trying to sell as many tickets as possible.

You are probably right. I had my team payroll down to 28 mil. per year, and was losing -$48,000 per game on media $. I traded for Mauer (5 star player) and it didn't change the media $ a dime. I was going to spin him off to trade for Texeria or D. Lee, but maybe it really doesn't matter if I don't dramatcally increase the payroll. At this pace I will lose about 7.4 mil. the rest of my owner season to media $, so maybe I should spend a little to pick up a good player.
