friar
The stadium is a concept and is what would be built IF the referendum gets passed in the legislature this Spring. If not, you can kiss Minnesota baseball goodbye. I don't know what I would do without baseball...I really don't. They better keep the Twins in Minnesota. There's lots of history in that franchise - not to mention a lot of fans in that area, even if they don't show up most of the time. A new park would solve a lot of those problems. It's similar to the Chargers situation in San Diego - and as a Bolt fan, I definitely commiserate. If the referendum does not pass in 07/08, the Bolts are gone. And I can't deal with that. sully04
The Twins are one of the best small market teams in the league. Considering the budget gap beteeen teams like the Twins and the Yankees, Dodgers, Braves, Red Sox, etc its amazing how competitive they keep themselves, and if the state of Minnesota lets them go they are fools. Sean O
Well, the point is, do you think that school teachers and minimum wage workers should spend their money to build a stadium for a billionaire? And, an ugly, cliched stadium at that? I certainly think there's something wrong with that. The Twins have no excuse for their current situation, since their team has been damn good for the past several years and yet they struggle to get to 24,000 fans / game. Yeah, the park sucks, but if you want to see your team you'll go anywhere. Tickets are cheap, the team is good, and you have the best pitcher in the major leagues as your ace. Let the fans actually support the team, and then we'll see what happens. There are 328,000 people who live in the city of Minneapolis, and 2.9 million in the metro area. So what's their excuse? The only reason the Twins have been competitive in the past 5 years is because the Central division has been weak. Look at last year, Cleveland and Chicago put out decent teams and the Twins fell to third, and as it looks right now they will probley be there for the next few years. There are too many people to blame with the whole Twins situation, #1 I blame the owner (isnt he the richest owner in MLB?), and #2 the fans (if I had a big league team in my town I would probley go to every game and support my team). I was against contraction when they first brought it up and am still against it now. Give the Twins to a city that actully cares.
sully04
I dont want to argue over this, but the Metrodome has some major problems. As someone who has actually been to this building, I think the biggest problem with the dome is its location. There is no parking in the area to support a major sporting event. Most fans have to walk in from a good distance away, unless they are staying in a hotel in the area. I won't defend the population of the cities. I know I'd go more often if I lived closer, but a new stadium would bring more fans I'm sure of it. You have to have experieced the state of the Metrodome to appreciate how much it truly is one of the worst venues playing home to a major sports franchise. Sean O
I just gotta say, the Boston Garden might be the least-hospitable location of the past 15 years, in terms of parking, location, and discomfort within the building. The closest parking lot was about 3 blocks away, walking down dark alleys to get to the place, many of the bathrooms had no lights in it, there were long, filthy hallways to get to the second level, it was either way too hot or way too cold, and there was a serious rat infestation problem. Even with that, the fans came. Yeah, the metrodome sucks, and it was a terrible design done on the cheap, devoid of aesthetic qualities. But that just doesn't cut it as an excuse when the team is good, because the fans should support the team regardless. Hell, anyone ever been to old Foxboro (Sullivan) Stadium? Would anyone really want to see a game there, considering the top row was practically in Rhode Island? And, two hours away from Metro Boston? Hell no. Dan
rossmac7, I noticed on the scoreboard you don't have any ads. I'd be happy to make them, just let me know what size (remember, more important ads, esp. scoreboard stuff, should be bigger in the ads0 or stcs file then the originals. I just need the original size). -BBHD

That's just the result of ****-poor planning. Look how many teams have built ballparks in downtown areas with little surface parking. How have THEY done at the gate? For instance, my hometown Padres...parking is damn tough around the new park, and we draw 37K+ a game for a .500 team. Anyway, the Twins deserve better, I wish the people of Minneapolis would show up. Santana is a beast.

Don't forget about the complete and utter lack of facilities with running water at Foxboro/Sullivan Stadium. I remember the line of Port-A-Potties from going there back when Pat The Patriot was still in style on helmets.
rossmac7
I figured out how to edit where the logos are on the field. Do I have to edit all 3 exctly the same (mfield0,1,2) or is there an easy way to change one and then make it all 3. I made it once then followed the normal steps and just renamed each.o/orl/ord file to the corresponding field #. it opened in Oedit but the game keeps crashing. Any suggestions thanks

I have found this to be the case in a few mods I have done. Try not to push parts too far away and not too far below 0.0000 if you can I usually just drag stuff under the stands. rossmac7
so I do nothing with the remocables with mfield? that might be my problem. I copied my batch file sfrom the stadium batch files and just changed mstadium to mfield and did not remove the removable.orl commands
Shabby610
Being a huge Twins fan, I agree that the problem with our franchise is the Metrodome. NOBODY wants to go to that stadium (except for me, I live 20 minutes away from the Dome and go to 2-3 games a week). Every person I ask says "Yeah, I'd go if it was outside!" My battery on my laptop is running out, I'll continue this later.

NYM
Parking sucks around Shea. When I go, we just park under the highway. It's only 10 bucks and you avoid the conjestion in the parking lot. There a million cars and only about two exits.

tebjr
Looking good Ross. Is that Turner Field that you used for the base? I'm trying my hand at stadium modding, but I'm not getting very far. Keep up the good work.

I'm trying my hand at stadium modding, but I'm not getting very far. Keep up the good work. yes it is. I started with Oriole park because I liked the layout better but being my first stadium mod I was having a terrible time with the warehouse components so I decided to change the base stadium. Patience is definelty the key.
FightingBillini
I think it would be appropriate to change the name to Puckett Park or Puckett Field. RIP Kirby

RIP Kirby Or at least do some sort of rememberance - maybe a mural on the CF wall. It seems that the eara of naming parks after people or teams is long past. Anyway, prayers to the Puckett family. Baseball lost a good one today. :(
