kgbaseball
I use the standard A's rotation: -Zito -Harden -Haren -Blanton -Loaiza Doesn't get any better than that for a starting 5. :wtg: Duchscherer setup man, and Huston Street closer.

Seems like all your first picks were spent on pitching, which, imo, is the way to go!
aaronuconn
If i ever (which is almost NEVER) do a fantasy draft, i always take a hitter then i look for pitching. I hate fantasy drafts...takes away from the realism of the game, IMO.
skte1ement
im in my second year A's chise with the 06 update and slider tweaks. i am currently in the ALCS against the bo sox havent played a game yet in the series but Chavez went down ont he last game of the regular season...should have rested him d@mn it. anyway my starting 5 is impressive. 1. Harden (who won cy young award in my first season) 2. Haren 3. Carpenter (picked him up as a FA fromt he cards) 4. Blanton 5. Kennedy (i originally had Chad Gaudin in the 5th spot, it seemed from his scouting report as if he had potention...all misleading the guy sucked so Kennedy has done a good replacement job. First start he got he went 9 innings and only gave up 3 hits, definantly my best pitching performance on this game.) set up man is Duke ( Duchesrur or however you spell it) closer is Houston street (this guy is a monster)

ftbllhead6
Fantasy Draft: Tigers 1: Pedro 2: Harden 3: Clement 4: Papelbon 5: Fossum SU: J.C. Romero or whatever his name is (Used to be on the Twins) CL: Tom Gordon Focused on mostly hitting/feilding in the fantasy draft, but this rotation and bullpen has given me a strong performance thus far in my dynasty. archrival
When I do a fantasy draft, I draft young. Oswalt is the oldest player on the team, although I originally drafted CC Sabathia and Duaner Sanchez. I traded them with some 30ish AAA pitcher to the Cardinals for Oswalt and Gonzalez. Right now McCarthy is on the DL and I have Ian Snell in his spot, Chin-hui Tsao is my AAA closer. The main problem I have is Pujols, Buehrle, and Oswalt have enourmous contracts. Plus a majority of the pitchers only have one year left and they all demand 1.5-2 million. That's stretching my cap greatly. The default White Sox salary cap is $70 million. I'm using the rosters from the MVP 06 mod. Whatever those are. 1st Base: Albert Pujols 2nd Base: Marcus Giles 3rd Base: David Wright Shortstop: BJ Upton Left Field: Carl Crawford Center Field: Jeremy Reed Right Field: Wily Mo Pena Designated Hitter: Ryan Howard Catcher: Joe Mauer Bench: IF: Jose Lopez C: Ryan Doumit 3B: Wilson Betemit CF: Brian Anderson RF: Victor Diaz What's your lineup like then? Seems like all your first picks were spent on pitching, which, imo, is the way to go!

UncleMo
Rotation: 1. Oswalt-Ace 2. Sabathia 3. Beckett 4. Bazardo 5. Wengert (drafted rookie, 4 star rating) Bullpen: 1. Francisoc Cordero Closer 2. Otsuka 3. Jenks 4.Aardsma 5.Penn If Needed 6.Jenks 7.Beltre 8. More info on your Staff and Tips: While Beltre, Aardsma, and Penn have horrible ERA's, for some reason my pitching staff is still rated number 1 in all of the league. If this pitching staff impresses you, even a little, try having the number one speed, defense, and batting ratings for your team to follow that: Crisp-cf Young-dh Teixiera-1b Blalock-3b Dunn-lf Nix-rf Pedroia-2b Tavaras-c (drafted rookie, second year in big leagues, 4 star rating) Arias-ss One interesting note-Oswalt would not come to my team unless I paid him 16.4 million dollars. You read that right. 16.4 MILLION dollars. He almost would not sign with my team. I had to keep cutting players, trading players, I almost went bankrupt getting him. Also this is the first time I've ever had a team rated #1 in each category. I hope to finally win the big one, trade off all of the pitching staff and bring up my much anticipated Danks, Diamon, Volquez. Boy they're going to get shelled. nanner
My Jays Rotation is standard, although I traded Lilly midseason because he's a free agent anyways after this year. I sent him and Catalonotto to the Reds for Austin Kearns. Then I sent up Dustin McGowan for good. Everyone will know his name soon enough anyways. The guys a awesome pitcher in the Jays system. It's the beginning of August in my dynasty right now... 1. Halladay (2.79 ERA, 14-6, 110 K's) 2. Burnett (3.59 ERA, 11-6, 122 K's) 3. Chacin (4.24 ERA, 7-7. 89 K's) 4. Towers (4.49 ERA, 6-8, 74 K's) 5. McGowan (3.39 ERA, 3-1, 42 K's in only 47 Innings pitched) Long Relief: (spot starter) Scott Downs (5.59 ERA, 2-3) Long Relief: Brandon League (4.42 ERA) Mid-Relief: Jason Frasor (3.39 ERA) Mid Relief: Scott Schoeneweis (3.19 ERA) Mid Relief: Vinnie Chulk (3.84 ERA) Set-up Man: Justin Speier (1.92 ERA, 42 K's in 44 IP!) Closer: B.J. Ryan (2.29 ERA, 29 Saves, 60 K's in 40 IP!) Ya, my bullpen is dominating my league. In real life though, those numbers aren't too far off to the real thing. Jays have the best bullpen in the AL East, and now with BJ Ryan instead of Miguel BLOWtista they might have the best in the AL. BJ Ryan strikes out so many in real life (100 K's in 70 IP or so) so I made his slider amazingly good to K that many in the game. For those who don't know. The computer always chases a good slider down and in after a few setup fastballs away. It works everytime almost. Just like in real life.
