High Heat series or Hardball 4

In my opion the two best of the best when it comes to PC baseball

Stats

Boxscores

Abilty to controll all the teams

Abilty to keep all the rosters up to date (all teams)

Great ABs (working the count, foul balls)

And much more

THATS BASEBALL!!

I might be blowing off the dust

and fire up the old HH2004

Theres a website with all the needed updates

http://www.theperfectgame.net/

2006 Roster

2006 MLB Schedule

updated jerseys

updated face and photo packs

updated Stadiums

I think you PC ballers should give it one more run before

playing MVP this year

hell you have till april!

I must say that HH 2004 is, IMO, the best baseball game ever. However, the mods here, make MVP '05 very close to HH'04.

But, thanks for the site info......will consider it

Altho, looking at that site, there isn't many updates. Stick with MVP till more updates.........Just my opinion

HH2004 was by far the worst of the series. I would have to say HH2002 was supremley better. It had nearly flawless gameplay, the mods were spectacular and the DangerZ editor is unrivaled in it's perfection. I wish the series had not died, but we are stuck with what we have and as far as I am concerned MVP is down right awesome.

From a graphic modder's standpoint, I actually think HH2004 was the best of the series. Now, I say this because I barely played the game and did a whole buttload of uniforms for it, so you can chalk it up to bias if you'd like. But the game was much better-looking than its predecessors (neither of which I've actually played, but have seen screenshots of), and modding it helped get me through my thesis semester with my sanity intact.

After playing MVP05 + mods, I loaded up hh2004 last year. There is no comparison. MVP05 is the King.

Now if Earl Weaver could be updated with MVP mods.............

Also Marcus's boxscore reader tool was top notch!

I modded the heck out of the HH series liking 2002 the best 2004 sucked *** and once I finally caved into MVP I do like my current MVP06 modded MVP Version the best of all of them!

For me our today's MVP has the best of both worlds nice gameplay, animations and graphic.

Would be sweet if this game kicked out boxscores like HH did!

Link? What? Please explain...

This is an inside joke for some of the oldtimers here on the forums.

A few years ago, back at the predecessor website to HighHeat.net (I believe it was called "The Clubhouse"), there was someone who posted in the forums that he was working on a utility that he called "The Link" that would allow you to transfer stats back and forth between High Heat and OOTP.

Despite heavily hyping this and making promises about how this would be the best mod ever, nothing ever came of it. Promised deadlines came and went and there was always one excuse or another of why nothing was being delivered. He supposedly formed a programming team, but "The Link" never saw the light of day. I'm sure you've seen similar promises about mods here on the MVP Forums.

It wouldn't have been so bad if the mod wasn't finished. The issue was that the guy hyped it so much and when there was skepticism about why it would be so much work, he kept coming back guaranteeing that he would deliver.

Thanks for the reply to Pirate Jim825. The Link is the most famous HH hyped mod not to be released.

Pirate, I just want to thank you for sharing your talents with the MVP community.

Hell Yeah!

As for the High Heat series, it was a great baseball fan's game when it was initially released. I still have the original freakin' box from 2002. But, as the series progressed, it seemed like the game started to become more and more geared towards "gamers." I remember when Microsoft bought the rights. There were reports that the game was going to be added to their existing title and form the greatest game ever.

The Link: Part II..... :(

I download HH2004 sometime last year and gave it an honest go-round. However, it wasn't anywhere near MVP - and this coming from a HH enthusiast who was content to play HH2002 for 3 years - literally.
