KySteveH
So I've been playing with all of Rodkey's various datafiles, as well as some changes of my own. One thing I can't quite get to look realistic is the way the ball bounces. There seems to be 3 issues. 1. Balls hit to the gap seem to speed up as they get through the outfield. I am forever chasing line drives that look like regular singles, but skip all the way to the wall. They should really slow down, or at least not speed up. 2. Balls hit down the lines have the opposite issue. A ball down the lines will shoot past the 1/3 baseman, but then literally stop halfway down toward the corner. 3. Throws from the outfield (which seem too low to start with) also seem to die on the grass. Seems like the ball should bounce a bit higher, and not slow down so much. I keep looking for a simple setting in the data file, like in HH2004, to change the bounce of the ball. Even if I could find it, I don't know what I would do, since it seems like I see 2 problems which are at odds. Has anyone else seen these things?
