RBaggio10
I saw a funny ad at the store the other day. It gave me an idea for a sig. Here: I have to note, I do not care that Johnny Damon went to the Yankees. I just thought the idea was very funny and I am studying Julius Caesar in school. RBaggio10
It is fron Julius Caesar. When Caesar is getting stabbed he walks up to Brutus and Brutus stabs him. Casear then says, "Et tu Brutus?" You too Brutus, like he couldn't believe Brutus would do that. So I saw an ad that had Johnny in pinstripes and it said "Et tu Johnny?" So I thought it was funny. medric822
And you Johnny? Yes, it's kinda weird, whats the meaning? I know that it "et tu" means "and you" in latin, but the "brute" is missing. They must find out how to say johny in latin.
AstroEric
One would think the cultural significance of the phrase would be enough. Sadly, I guess not many people are in touch with their Shakespeare these days. --Eric

jogar84
That phrase is overused and has become a cliche- probably the reason why it isnt funny or clever.
