Need help, Can't remember how to open Databig file..

Sorry Guys,

I can't remember how to open Databig file.. I have the tools but can't remember how to use them. I have installed the MVP06 files but I want to change the Infielders depth and positions..

I sure hope someone can help me here..

I know how to change the positions, i just can't open the the dam Databig.

there used to be a tutiorial somewhere, But I cant find it.

You think with all the amazing mods around here, someone could simply tell me how i can open the Data file so that I can change the If positions.

I know that Snepp used to have a tutorial on how to do that , but I searched the board and can not find it.

When I click on the Decompressor, It says

C: documents and settingsownermy documents my data tutorial>gfxpak -decompress - real datafile.txt. datafileEdit.txt

couldn't open .datafile.txt for reading.

C: documents and settingsownermy documents my data tutorial>pause. Press any key to continue . . .

Then nothing happens..

So what am I doing wrong.

Hey buddy, I don't think I can help you because I use MVPEdit. But there is something you must learn. The modders around here take time out of their lives to mod this game to their liking. Give them some damn time to answer your question! Honestly I don't know why it is the same with everyone that asks a question. You posted your question and not even 24 hrs. later you get mad because no one answered. I have just one thing to say, WAIT! and someone will get to your question.

1. YOU NEED THE EA GRAPHT OR BIG GUI PROGRAM.

2. OPEN THE FILE IN THE EA GRAPH, THE FILE IS INSIDE THE PROGRAM FILES (MVPBASEBALL2005) YOU SEE THE DAT FILE.

3. NEXT PUSH THE DAT FILE.

4. SELECT THE DAT FILE AND OPEN

5. YOU CAN SEE THE TOTAL ARCHIVES INSIDE THE DAT FILE.

6. REMOVE THE ARCHIVE YOU LIKE.

7. FINISH WITH RECICLE OPEN THE DAT FILE IN THE EAGRAPHT AND FINISH.

ENJOY!! SORRY... IS BETTER WRITE IN SPANISH!!! JEJEJEJE!!!

If my post offended you, I apologize,

I have been posting on these boards since the days of Sierra football, Even though my post on this board only show 13, I have been here from the beginning.

Many of the Modders know me and I am not complaining because they are not answering me, I am angry at myself for forgetting how to do this, ( although after re-reading my post. It did sound that way )

And I know its such a simple task to do, I thought just about anybody could tell me.

When My wife developed cancer, I had to leave these boards for quite a awhile, I used to be on top of all this and had every mod for MVP2004, Mvp2005, including MVPedit,

I was a High Heater from day one and used DangerZ editor.

Now I am back and would really like to play baseball again, I just installed the MVP2006 mod and it is really cool, But it took me months to get my MVP 2005 data file to my liking,

I had my If positioned so that it cut off many off those hits through the infield and had many great diving catches. I have seen no diving catches in the 06 upgrade and way to many base hits from routine grounders up the middle..

I thought I could just open up my data file, fix my positions, and be playing BB again..

But it is all like a foreign language to me. I can't remember anything, I can’t even remember how to use MVP edit anymore.

I am not very computer literate, and unless I do something consistently, I just can't remember it.

So , I am just a little excited about starting a new season. Once again, If my post came across as disrespectful, I’m sorry, It really wasn’t' meant that way..

Just very disappointed in myself for forgetting and excited about MVP06.

The position is defined by depth from home plate and distance from a relative base. Leave pitcher and catcher alone. But let's look at 3B, SS, 2B, & 1B. The position for the 1B in a STANDARD defense against a lefty hitter is lines #7 & 8.

So, with my values above, he will be 12 ft. from 1st and 99 ft. from home. The defaults for this were: 20 ft. from 1st (too far) and 110 ft. from home (or 20 ft. behind 1st - too deep for standard).

2B is 62 ft. from 1st base and 126 ft. from home (lines 10 & 11).

Now, when you go to SS & 3B, the depth is still distance from home plate, but now the sideways position is defined from third base. So, for 3B, he will be 95 ft. from home & 15 ft. from 3rd (lines #13 & 14

Now most of it looks like this..
