maxbjr
I've played MVP 05 for about 50 games now. I play Total Classics 5 at rookie lvl with +50 user batter contact, +50 User batter power, and have yet to hit a single homerun. meanwhile the cpu which is set to -50 in both is hitting 2 to 4 homers per game. I'm using keyboard setup 1. I'd like to play at least at pro level but don't see how as of now. Any one have any suggestions. (By the way I do average around 15+ hits per game, but this too is somewhat unrealisist.) Thanks for your help
MarkB
A controller should really improve your experience and skill when playing over using a keyboard. Either that, or you are really, really bad at baseball video gaming. No offense, but rookie level with sliders so much in your favour is horrible. Hints; 1. Invest in a good gamepad, if you can afford one. If you have a PlayStation 2, you can purchase a PS2-USB converter that will allow you to use your PS2 controller on the PC for gaming. 2. Don't swing at pitches you can't hit. Basic, but effective. 3. Don't swing for the fences on every pitch. The more you try to hit a homerun, the lesser your chances, unless you are very skilled. 4. Don't use multiple exclamations in thread titles! ;)

Hoop27
definately get a controller as Mark said the PS2 setup is excellent. the thing I do for homers is if I get a 2-0 or 3-1 count that is when I hold up/pull and look for a pitch middle in and try to rip it. Zeon
Invest in a controller, and pointing the trigger up helps with power. The cpu usually throws in one of your "cold" spots once every atbat I point my trigger where that is and once in awhile you get lucky... Keep workin... maxbjr
Good idea, I'll have to get a controller for pc. And yes this is the 1st time I've played a baseball game in anything other then manger mode . (Well, actually MVP Baseball is the only game I've wanted to play in regular play mode in about 20 years of gaming). I don't have a PS2 but I can pick up a PS2 controller with a PS2-USB converter. thanks again

If you don't have a ps2, why buy a ps2 controller and a usb converter? Spend your money on a good pc game pad, thats what I would do.

Actually a good reason for it is you can find used PS2 controllers for dirt cheap at your local pawn shops, and used game stores, so you can pick up a couple of em for dirt cheap (i have 3 floating around which I picked up for 5 bucks CDN each)
