why cant I play on 1024????Please help

Hello everyone,I recently upgraded my cpu to be able to play the 06 mod in high detail,but I find that everytime I set the display to 1024(or is it 1028?) the game crashes when I attempt to play a game.The game plays fine on 800 ,and I now am able to play with every visual setting on high,but I cannot play on 1024.Please help.I currently am running

Intel P4 2.4ghz

200 gb hd

1024 Ram

ati 9600 pro video(I installed drivers from cd that came with card,do I need to update drivers?)

My monitor is a very old 15 inch crt (HP m50)Could this be the problem?

You could try updating the drivers, couldn't hurt.

Usually if it's the monitor, it'll just turn off if it gets overloaded, at least that's the way mine works.

I second that about the drivers. It's worth a shot.

Also, when you're setting your resolution to 1024 x 768, are you leaving everything else on "high" as well? I'd try turning everything down to "Off" or "Low" and throw it on 1024 and see if that makes a difference. If it does, it's more than likely your Video Card telling your Monitor to do something it can't. Still, if that was the case, you're game might not crash but rather look really weird and jibberishly on your monitor.... :?

And, as another resort, you might want to do another installation of the game. This time, be certain you change the default directory to something like:

C:Program FilesEA SportsMVP Baseball TEST

After it's installed, before applying any patches or mods, you can install try and run the game at 1024. At least this way it should tell you if it's due to the game or due to hardware.
