Mav3rek
Since my company (I work for Cingular doing tech support) is going on strike starting Monday, I figured now would be the perfect time to create a new stadium from scratch for MVP 05. I want to create one that will not only look good, but play good as well. I'm thinking the location will be in Vegas, and that maybe i'll move the Marlins there. But anyway, the real reason for my post is to get an opinion on this matter. I have come up with 4 basic field designs and can't choose which one I prefer. I will post them here shortly, and would like for you guys to give me your opinions on which one would work best. Thanks in advance.
Mav3rek
Well here are the designs, I just finished uploading them to my PC. I'm kinda leaning towards D, but I'm still not sure. Just let me know, thanks.

friar
C - lots of extra base hits. Love the deep CF - just like Tiger Stadium.

APR
Have you thought about adding this to the Park Competition? If you don't know what that is go into the Left Field Forum and then click the sub-forum near the top!
Sean O
A. Symmetry has become unnecessarily villified, since it makes for gorgeous parks without pointless outfield bends. Which parks looks better at ground level, Kauffman and Dodger Stadium or Petco and Ameriquest? Occam's razor: simplicity is always best.
kgbaseball
C - lots of extra base hits. Love the deep CF - just like Tiger Stadium. I was going to say the exact same thing Except I don't like the long CF, I vote for D

gcurrier2004
I like it, but is all of that foul territory going up the lines? If it is there will be numorous inside the park HR's

Sharpshooter
I don't like the bull pens where they are at. I like the pens the old fashion way (on foul territory). I like having the fans all around the outfield wall. Make a distinct feature to your park. Examples, if your superstar is a right handed slugger, make left field stands small so he can literally hit out of the park. Vice versa for a right handed superstar slugger. How about a view from of down town with maybe a rooftop showing. -brick or ivy on part of the wall. Not the whole thing or it might turn to wrigley field. -where will your scoreboard be located? Mav3rek
I meant to close off the foul territory where the walls for the bullpen are...my bad...the center field will be open with a veiw of downtown wherever, (Vegas is still a possibility, but now I'm maybe thinking Lexington, KY), The scoreboard will be in left above the seats kind of like Great American Ballpark, which I hate to say it, but this park is starting to kinda resemble it, so I may end up drastically changing it, and taking the advice of making it unique with some sort of stand alone feature... keep the suggestions coming though, they are helping me in coming up with a final design that I can begin devoting my full time/energy to.... D-Unit
i would stick with the vegas location, and moving the marlins there is a great idea considering that is a possible option for them to go. and the stadium looks good too.
Mav3rek
Well I've run into a snag...I'm having major major problems with OEdit moving stuff around and all that goodness. And without bugging everyone over and over and over and over and over etc....this may take a lot longer than originally expected. But I have changed the park a little bit, I moved the bull pens, and added a few seats. I'll post updated pics later today, and hopefully I'll have some concept drawings of what the inside of the park may look like.
hitting_help?
I think it's cool. Glad you didn't go with a boring symmetrical park.
